With a Psychology degree, I am able to communicate effectively with both the client as well as the client's family members. I offer compassion and understanding to each individual's family. I have a strong personality and am able to encourage my clients to allow me to help them with the services that are best for them even when they are reluctant. I am able to help them maintain their dignity and independence while assisting them with their every day tasks. I became a caregiver in 2016 when my company lost it's grants. I evaluated what other avenues were available to me to share my years of counseling experiences. I decided that as a home health care aid, I could help both the client themselves and their families. I enjoy knowing that I have helped a number of people remain in their own homes with dignity and respect.

I have worked in healthcare for over 20 years and enjoy caring for others and improving their quality of life. I am a Respiratory Therapist and have an Associates degree as a Medical Office Assistant. I also am a volunteer time with my local Volunteer Fire Department as the President, Captain of the K9 Search and Rescue Team as well as a K9 Handler and an EMT. I became interested in being a caregiver when I was a teenager when I took care of my Grandmother and saw the challenges she endured in her life as she aged. I also have a diploma in Canine Obedience trainer and Veterinary Assistance. I feel my greatest achievement is nationally certifying 2 different K9s at 3 levels of trailing to help locate lost and missing people.

I feel I am a great caregiver because I am empathetic, caring, charismatic, silly, I love to make my consumers smile and be happy. I became a caregiver for the following reasons there are never enough caregivers to go around, I have worked short handed in caregiving since I started. I enjoy helping my consumers live their life to best they can and I am willing to help any way I can to achieve that goal. My personal achievement I'm most proud of is definitely being the best mom, person, friend, I can be and also being myself.

I have been working the the health field for 18 years. I have worked in home care, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and psych hospitals. I love helping people. I love to sit and hear their the stories of their past. I am a very caring person and treat all my residents as if they were my own family. My mother was an aide when I was younger and I always admired what she did and wanted to do the same. I love everything there is about being a caregiver, from the good days to the bad. Every moment, every day is very rewarding. I have two personal achievements that I am most proud of. The first one is my three children. They are my everything and my reason to get up every day and keep doing what I do. My second one is the fact that I am now back in school. I never had enough self confidence to do it but with the support of my children and my boyfriend I know I can accomplish it and be great at it.

I love to smile and interact with other kinds of people. I love being a care giver, I have always wanted to help people since I was a little girl growing up. I just want to see people happy and smile. I enjoy the bond the client and I create together. My attendance, I don't call off ever.

My #1 goal in life to help other people, and to make their lives better & easier. Because of this goal, i'm following my dreams to continue my education to become the best Occupational Therapist that i can. At the nursing home i currently work at, its easy for me to build relationships with the residents and try to make their day worth what they pay for. Personally, i'm the youngest employee at my job, and was proud to get awarded "employee of the summer 2018".

I have always taken care of people around me. I grew up in a household with many people in and out. My parents were a certified safe house for cys (OCY) in the tri-county area. I also volunteered at nursing homes from the age of 12. I have always loved keeping people company and helping with what is needed. Since such a young age I have always loved helping people.

BIO Hi I'm Antoinette!! I'm a nursing assistant at upmc northwest and Ive been there for 6 years. I've worked in several departments helping. I'm also a private home health assistant and at the moment I take care of another couple in the morning hours 5 days a week. CPR certified yes I am :) I love helping and caring for others. I'm very out-going, patient, persistent, caring, genuine and I love to make others smile. I enjoy socializing and getting to know everyone. It's not just a job to me it's a part of my life I enjoy doing because your helping someone and knowing that person can trust and depend on you means all the world.

I truly love people. Since I was two years old my mother called me a Chatty Kathy with the difference being I am a Katie! Legally my first name is Sarah but I do go by Katie. I love to sing. I love music. I like to listen to stories! I'm happy to write down information about people's lives. I think that that is something that is important to pass down to generations. I have a CD of my grandfather speaking about his life in the military. I cherish it. I'd be happy to make anything like that while I am taking care of a loved one for someone. I very interested in working with people and helping people when they need it the most.

I am a kind person who simply loves helping other people in anyway possible, from entertaining and talking, to getting to the dirtier needs that need done.
