I've been a caregiver for more than 30 years. I care about people and I feel like God has given me a gift. I love to talk so I pretty much can get a patient to try must things that a family member can't get them to to to. I love to read and interact with them if it's just a game cards.

I am a great caregiver because I'm very outgoing, have a loving and caring personality, compassionate about being a caregiver. I have been a caregiver for six years and cared for many individuals. The thing that attracted me to being a caregiver is that I love helping people. The thing I enjoy most is getting to know the individual and building a bond while helping them with there needs. A personal achievement that I'm proud of is when my grandma was diagnosed with dementia. I always heard about how things may happen / occur but actually dealing with this on a daily was something that was very hard. I was able to overcome all my fears especially dealing with a love one.

I am capable of being a great care giver because I am attentive and not judgemental. I became a caregiver by accident, my mother lost her memory with little warning, (she was handing her own affairs well and within a few days she was incapable of managing her own affairs), and soon after lost her ability to walk, at the time I was unemployed and so became a caregiver. In spite of not having given this line of work any previous consideration. Becoming a caregiver for people outside my family acquainted me with how other people lived. My interest has always been people and spending a considerable amount of time in homes, allows me insights that other jobs don't give. Growing up I always enjoyed my grandmother recalling the life experiences that made her the type of person she was. I take pride in being a unique individual and not being just like everyone else. I am not just a member of a collective.

I'm a great care giver cause I actually care about the person I'm taking care of. Been in the business for over 15 years. Have worked in side people homes but have also worked at nursing homes for a long time also.

I would be a great caregiver due to having to take care of my Grandma since I was pretty young. She suffered from depression, dementia, then Alzheimer's. She needed a lot of care. I also love people and helping others. My Grandma Giving someone companionship and helping them. The feeling they get when they see that someone cares about them. Love working with elderly

I like to present myself as having a Servant's Heart. I am Compassionate, Friendly, Outgoing, and have the tendency to assure the people I assist to feel comfortable and worthy. The need for elderly care and companionship attracted me to begin working as a caregiver. I enjoy knowing that I make a difference in elderly citizens' lives. I am a retired flight attendant and have been trained in CPR and other first aid practices. I worked approximately 2 years for a family whose father was a retired Army Colonel. He had Parkinson's disease and Lewy Body dementia. I recently was requested, by the daughter of an 82 year old lady who I had previously cared for, to travel to FL to stay with her mother for one week while she traveled back to IL for meetings. I would consider accompanying an elder client if need be to travel.

I'm a mother of 2 sons. Grandmother of 2! I had a very special relationship with my grandmother, and I think that is why I enjoy the elderly so much. I enjoy learning from my elders I have nearly 2 years of nursing training, and I have experience working in a nursing home. I've also worked with an autistic young man. We have learned from each other.
