I majored in Social Work and have had a wonderful 27 year career of working with children, adolescents and the aging. I have worked at UVA hospital where I gained insight into the importance of maintaining good health and how devastating a disease or accident is on one's health and life. I have worked for department of social services and assisted the aging with receiving the services needed to remain in their home or to move into a facility. At this time, I am doing "hands on" care in people's home to assist them with various activities of daily living. My mother was bedridden for many years and I was one of her primary caregivers. I know the burden on family when caring for a loved one and the importance of support. My grandfather lived to be 96 and I was there for him to assist with shopping, meal prep, housekeeping, medication reminders and transportation. I cherish the times that I spent with my mother and grandfather caring for them. I also cherish the support I received from others.

Greetings! My name is Dana, and I reside in Louisa County, near Lake Anna. All of my previous positions have been either in customer service or helping others. In regards to caregiving, I have experience working with folks in a home setting where I have done things such as; help with toiletry, grooming, meal preparation, helping with mobility (getting in and out of bed), companionship ( I play a mean hand of Rummy), and some exercise (taking walks). I have previous work experience as a CPHT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) and I'm trained in medication management, I would have no problem with medication management. I also have work experience with neurological disorders, developmental disorders, mental illness, and ADLs- from early childhood and up.

I became a caregiver in 1997 because I want to try to help anyone in need. I like being a caregiver because I get enjoyment knowing that I am able to help someone in need. I am very proud to have successfully earned my Med. Tech License. I am a wife and a mother of two beautiful children. I am very dependable, trustworthy and respectful. I have been in this field of employment for many years, have great references, and would love to help take care of and spoil your loved one as if they we're my own family. This line of work isn't for everyone but I am positive that it is my calling. It comes naturally and easy to me when I am helping someone else with whatever assistance that they may need. I sincerely get pleasure from knowing that I helped make a difference in someone else's life.. no matter how big or small .

I am a great caregiver. I've been caregiving since I was about 10. My mother was my first patient, she was dealing with lung cancer at the time. My roles included bathing , feeding cooking and cleaning for her. I love taking care of people and helping people. My goal in life is to become a geriatric nurse.

I'm passionate about helping others, specifically the elderly,cause they seem to be the forgotten and it's ashame,cause they have such history and is truly the core of one's family. I know from experience,my grandmother was so interesting. I like making ones day good, a smile,kind word,can go a long way. A personal achievement,is my three grown children, raising them being a divorce,single mother and observing their achievements, all graduates, of college and most important good human beings,with a concise,to do the right thing,cause it's the right thing,to do. Good citizens and I played a significant part in helping them, to achieve their goals, now that's a proud mother,greatest personal achievement I'm proud of. What makes me a great caregiver ?? I started out as doing this job because I wanted to learn how to take care of my aunt , I ended up enjoying helping people so it became a job I wanted to do . I plan to become a RN and this was just a foot in the door but I'm glad I did it .

I'm a caregiver for over ten years. I'm loving, caring, compassionate, honest and very energetic. Over the years I have worked in private homes and assisted living facilities, where I got experience working with dementia, Alzheimer's, diabetes, Parkinson's, hypotension, cancer and stroke patients. I also cared for persons with special needs. I have developed a work ethics to be a very patient, kind, loving and understanding. I'm a certified Home Health Aide, my job descriptions are assisting with daily living, maintaining personal hygiene, laundry, errands, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication and appointments. I also have a valid drivers license with my own car. I'm applying for a job that I am confident that your love one will be safe, secure and guaranteed the best care.

Because I love caring for older people and taking care of kids. Seeing the elderly smile and learning their life experiences and love being part of their family. Helping someone come out of her second stroke she's 92 and I am still caring for her. I am a very compassionate caregiver and always like to make someone smile , and they all say I have very good common sense , and very confident at what I do.
