While working with ARc of Baldwin County, the Viola House was about to be close down by state because of poor keeping. With the help of good teamwork / people that needed to work and much pray the house became a home to eight mental challenge people within three months. I love what I do.

I am 46 yrs old and I been in the medical field for 24 yrs and I love what I do. It is a blessing to me to be able to help care for the elderly. I think they have earned the right to rest easy in their later years. I have worked in hospitals and in home care. I have great references. I have lived in Santa Rosa County all my life. It's my passion to assist individuals who need help with daily activities. I have been helping family members and close family friends for a long time. Helping others became important to me early on in life. Helping individuals reach and surpass goals is truly meaningful to me. One personal achievement that I'm most proud of is, recognizing the signs and symptoms of a stroke in a person. By the time we got to the emergency room, she seemed ok. They were considering sending her home, but I knew something wasn't right. I advocated for her, and they kept her. We received a phone call one hour later saying that she was being life flighted. She was in grave condition, and they didn't expect her to make it. The doctor said that had she went home and went to sleep, he was sure she would have passed. I cherished the training, and the knowledge to calmly, yet efficiently do my job, it saved her life.

I took care of my grandparents both of them for 4 years, but before they actually needed me I was giving my grandfather his shoots for diabetes. I loved to help my grandmother in the yard pulling weeds and talking also we enjoyed meal prepping peeling peas was the best and eating raw veggies. They always thought I'd be a great nurse because I naturally love taking care of others and just do so in many ways I was very good with my grandfather he was a hard man to get along with for most but, I appreciate the way he was and will always refer to him as my best friend. I also spent quite a bit of time with our neighbors an elderly couple. It's always been a passion of mine that I now wish to pursue. After the passing of my grandparents I started working housekeeping and eventually I got wrapped up in the pool business where I have been for the last 5 years. I'll be 30 in June and I feel it's time to start a job where I can share the love I have to others especially those in need.
