I started off as a caregiver working up a little high to certified home health aide and now just weeks away from receiving my Nursing assistant license. In all I have about 2 1/2 years of experience so far and am planning to become a registered nurse very soon as well. I have worked in home health environment as well as facilities/ retirement homes/ hospital rehabs. I am quite the thorough worker bee and enjoy working with elderly along with special needs (of all ages)/children too.

Helping others is what I love doing. Working with children from an early age has taught me many skills, including patience, compassion, understanding, and gentleness. Seeing so many elder people who need help from a day to day basis, has made me think back to my childhood and experience taking care of my grandmother. As well as the promise I made to take care of her as an adult, and sadly wasn't able to. Being a caregiver is something that helps me feel closer to my grandmother and fulfill the promise I made to her. An achievement I'm very proud and grateful for is becoming the woman my grandmother new I would be and being able to have conversations with people who have been have seen the world longer then I could imagine.

My Name is Katrina but go by Nina for short! I have been a Certified Nurse Assistant since the age of 16. It has always been my dream to help people. I have 3 children one of which has special needs! The reason I bring up my special boy is because he has taught me more about patience, understanding and compassion than any kind of school/ work training. Why I say this is because no one can take care of a loved one like family. I have years (over15yrs) of experience and hold what I do with respect and kindness. I enjoy what I do and will do my very best at taking care of you ( or your loved one). I'm a hard worker and have compassion.

What makes me decide to be a caregiver is because I have daughter with special needs and just the way I help my daughter every day I want help other people that needs it to. I think I'm a good caregiver because I love working with people and always try to be on time dont matter if I have to wake up early but I be always on time.

I decided to become a caregiver in order to transition over from a more "professional" career to one in which I feel more fulfilled by helping others, making a difference in people's lives & can feel more valued than a corporation could allow me to feel. I was born with the innate tendency and desire to care for others. I believe that I learned this trait from my mother of five, who is also a professional caregiver. Some call it a blessing and some call it a curse! It makes me feel better about myself to show & give love to others, both humans and pets. A personal career achievement I am proud of has been recruiting people to Yosemite National Park and making their dreams come true. For me, it is heaven on Earth, and was personally rewarding having the power to allow others the opportunity to experience the same feeling of community and nature's peace that I felt there as well. Recently I have felt another type of fulfillment by volunteering at the local pound and helping care for the homeless animals. I can take them on walks and give them affection. All in all, it just feels good to help and feel that I am making a difference in the life of another being. I am a social being by nature and really enjoy connecting with other souls and listening to their story, even if it's repeated over and over again! I also do fine working in solitude. I am currently in my 30's and do not have any children as of yet. I am in a long term relationship and living in Willows, California.

I have been in the medical field since 1992 I worked with many clients in hospitals Care homes to private hey and their homes. I have work with dementia and Alzheimer's patience to quadriplegics I have done all hands on by working side-by-side with r ends I have worked with hospice doing comfort measures to just being a companion while working in their homes caring for a client I am experienced in many different things when it comes to taking care of someone it's what I'm best at I know a lot to experience I work with clients who are knee and hip replacements helping with range of motion and therapy I'm very patient and I love to take care of those who can't care for themselves it's my passion to show love where it's needed I work with patients with Parkinsons and many other medical conditions. in 1992 is when I got in the medical field my grandmother went into a care home and I have to say that she probably would have lived if they didn't treat her the way that they said they didn't have any patience with her that confined her to her bed they stop feeding her just to see my grandmother who is my everything pass away I told myself that I'm going to be in the medical field and care for people's families the way that I wanted someone to care for my grandmother like around that mother was my everything and I miss her to this day. and I promise you if you hire me I will love and care for your family member as if they were my own thank you for reading my short bio. I'm available to work any days but hoping I can have Sunday off for church there is no job description and I am uncomfortable with when I comes to the medical field I'm able to do whatever is needed to give the best care possible.
