As I worked, I was also putting in many hours volunteering as an in home hospice companion, in home palliative companion, and serving in convalescent homes. I am currently considering being a Hospital Chaplain as a career change since this is where my heart is at. I'm a social person who loves to provide a positive environment with everyone I meet. My appreciation for hospice came when my mom needed this service and I knew somehow I wanted to be on the caring side of the industry. When I first started caregiving over 12 years ago I wasn't sure if I would be making a career of a caregiver. To be honest it wasn't for me after the first few weeks. Well something happened and 12 years later I am still caregiver because this is what I am supposed to do in life. I have learned that I have a gift for memory care and a whole lot of love to give. I always make sure that my daily task will get completed in time for me to take the time to visit with a resident or client that needs someone to just be there for them. To listen,to talk to,or just quietly sit with them. Maybe they want to be mad and scream and hit at you. Whatever they need. I love what I do and I do what I love.

I've loved helping my older relatives since a young age, and decided to take CNA classes in highschool due to loving volunteering at the nursing homes in middle school. I grew up taking care of my grandfather and grandmother whom unfortunately past away from liver-related and diabetical issues. After that, I began focusing on my passion which is using my engineering abilities in order to help people with various illnesses live a better and more comfortable life. My goal after completing school is to work towards the inventions of med-technological devices that improve living conditions for people around the world. With good personal assistant experience and knowledge of engineering, I will stop at no cost of my goal of improving the world.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I want to be able to help the client as much as I can and help the clients day to day life. I wanted to be a caregiver when I was younger, i took care of my grandma until she was 100 years old and I also took care of my father when he was passing from cancer. Being able to help someone is so rewarding. I enjoy getting to know my clients and being able to learn about them. My personal achievement that I'm proud of is I got my Medication Aide certificate and I also got to work as a CNA.
