my name is Sage, I started being interested in the nursing field ever since I was 15, ive witness multiple family members having illnesses cancer and even death. I always wanted to help people and heal them as much as I can.. I started the CNA program senior year of high school and graduated the same month as high school graduation and I had a job set up for me right away. I dont know the exact field i want to stay in but for now i really enjoy homecare.

I began working as a caregiver st the age of 17. Actually much younger as I often would take care of my mom as she was bipolar and needed a lot of assistance. Caregiving and helping people as always come very natural to me and provides me with a lot of joy. Being able to help with people is always been a priority to me. I have worked in a variety of environments which I believe makes me versatile. I bring positivity into the lives of the clients I work with. I am patient, openminded, compassionate, reliable, a great listener, organized and flexible.

My whole life I have always cared for some one. My first real caregiving job was at 16 and I loved it. It is a true blessing to help those that need a little extra care in life due to a illness, accident, or just the aging process. I enjoy cooking, art, gardening, and reading when I have time. I'm from Oahu and moved to Maui 1990. Then got some mainland experience before coming back home to Maui.

I am an all around fun, energetic, and caring sitter/nanny/caregiver. I have amazing references because I always leave my clients happy. A lot of my jobs come from vacationers, stuff long parents, and people I randomly meet then offer my services too. I'm not in it for the money and really find a connection with all of the kids I care for. I like to do activities from the beach to stay at home arts and crafts. I like to teach as we play. My goal is to have a prepreschool of my own and service those in my community who need that helping hand and reliable assistance.

I was also in the RN program in Florida. I completed 2 semesters but dropped out to become a massage therapist. I also worked as a Phlebotomist for 3 years. As an Acupuncturist I treated many different problems with adults and children. I took care of my mom who had dementia for many years until she went into a nursing home. I also took care of my brother who had dementia for a couple of years until he went into a nursing home. I lived on Oahu from 1978-1989. I moved back to Florida where I grew up and just moved to Maui 3 weeks ago. My personality traits are kindness, compassion, patience, listening and love for all people, these are traits I extend to everyone I meet. Since I was a young girl I have always wanted to help people. As I got older I began to help friends, family, co-workers. Sometimes it was just to listen to them and give support. What I have enjoyed most is how it makes me feel to be a caregiver. It always feels better to give! The people always teach me especially how to be a better person. I also enjoy making peoples lives better. I am proud of myself for being a mother, daughter, sister, friend, for the schooling I have had, for being healthy and happy, for doing what's right, for being a hard worker, for seeing the good in people, for making a difference in people's lives, for being in awe of life!

I am a state certified caregiver. I have been providing skilled services to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities for the past 10 years. I am patient, kind and caring. I have a drive to help others.

My mother had aggressive breast cancer in 2019 and after undergoing intensive surgery to remove it, was cleared to come home where I was able to be a big part of her at home recovery. My early years of caregiving experience was during an after school work study program. I chose to do this at our long term care in the only hospital we have on the island of Molokai. From there, I went on to care for my dad til he past on at 73 years old. I then, volunteered with Hospice of Hilo on the big Island with the respite program & later with the grief group for children experiencing grief through lost of someone or something. I've also had the opportunity to work with an assisted living agency in Arizona and learned to adjust my lifestyle with many individuals with various backgrounds not similar with mines. I had such a great time meeting people & learning different ways to approach individual needs. I am 58 years old and has raised my two boys as a single parent. From them , I have six grandchildren. Compassion is rare, but isn't impossible to learn.
