Hi my name is Mindy! I am a mother of 4 beautiful girls ages 19 to 7 and I am a grandma of a spunky 2 year old little girl! I completed my cna in 2010 and started my career. I went to In home services because it is more personal time to spend and 1 on 1 . my main focus is the individual I am assisting. I continue online courses and love what I do! I have taken care of some family members especially my own great grandma whom I loved so much. And she taught me that my calling was to do 1 on 1. I have worked in nursing homes, care centers and in home. I worked in dementia units, also with disabilities for 7 years, hospice, and so much more.

I would like to build my caregiving career becasue I would like to give back to the elderly community for all their great accomplishments and triumph throughtout their lives that gave me the ability to live my life. At first I am quiet, but I open up quickly, and enjoy getting to know new people. I always knew I wanted a career of working with people, but as I quickly learned at my last job, caregjving is truly a rewardimg job. It is so much mkre than a job to me, as you are walking into someones home, and into someones life. I became interested in caregiving, after I cared for my grandmother after she had her leg amputated. I was in high school, but spending that summer helping her impacted me greatly and I knew how I could help people as a future career. I enjoy the bond established between a regular caregiver and a client the most, it is such a warm and loving relationship. It almost feels life family, but still professional as caregiving is a job, and that is why it takes a special kind of love go be a caregiver. Your not caring for your family, but your caring for someomes loved one. And your able to provide peace of mind to your clients family, that their loved one is safe. A little each about me, a personal achievement I am proud of is becoming a first time homeowner in October of 2020, and being able to raise my family in a home that I know I worked so hard for.

I am great with people. I'm very understanding of their needs. I listen closely to what they are saying. I'm funny, I love seeing and hearing an elder laugh and be happy. What attracted me to being a caregiver is ever since I was a little I would help my grandpa every time I went to his house, and it always brought me enjoy, so since then I was always wanted to help and take care of my elders. It brings me joy. I enjoy helping my elders, and spending time with them, and getting to know them, and listen to all of their stories about their journeys they experienced throughout their life.
