I love working with children as well as elderly and disabled people. I have worked in Nursing homes, group homes, hospitals, and State facilities taking care of children, elderly people as well Developmentally Disabled and Mentally I'll individuals. I am a people person and love to work with people! I am very dependable and I am a very fast learner. I listen to the needs and concerns of the individual(s) that I am taking care of (working for) and I try to take care of everything asked of me. I address concerns immediately and try to resolve them (or ease them) to the best of my ability! I love to have fun. I am a home body, I don't party. I am excellent with children and children seem to really like me. I can cook, clean, give medicine if needed, swim, go to the park, take children to extra curricular activities, give baths, and put to bed with a bedtime story if that's what needed. Hi there! I am a 32 year old mother of 2. I live in Bethany with my 10 year old daughter and 8 year old son. I have always loved caring for others, no matter their age or needs. I find giving yourself to someone else in your profession is incredibly rewarding and fulfilling! I especially have a tender spot for the elderly. As a girl I volunteered in nursing homes my mama was employed by. She's a nurse of 18 years and opened the door to this world for me. I immediately fell in love with providing care and knew this was my calling in life. I am CPR certified, and have performed CPR successfully once after a patient suffered a heart attack. I am also certified in home care, Alzheimer's Disease, communicable disease, bathing/grooming, and transferring. I am able to perform glucose checks, manage oxygen use, take blood pressures, and perform range of motion. I am trained in creating and carrying out care plans as well as shift charting. My most recent patient has passed away, leaving me to find someone to devote myself to. I was with him for approximately 7 years, and the loss has been difficult. After taking some time to grieve, I am now ready to move forward and continue the line of work I am so passionate about. I am a very compassionate, caring woman. ...quick to smile and love to laugh. I am incredibly detail oriented and very reliable. I understand the importance of patience and building a foundation of trust, while giving consideration to each individual's needs and wants. It's never only about what someone needs. What a person wants is just as important, and if at all possible to safely give them that, I feel the effort should be made. My goal is to provide the medical care my patient needs, while also being a companion and allowing them to remain in their home where they feel safe and secure in their surroundings.

I've been a caregiver for a long time. It's more than just a job I go to everyday. I love it when a person can stay in their own home, where they are comfortable and feel secure rather than be admitted into a nursing facility. I believe that people heal better and do better in their own homes but many times, without help, they are unable to stay at home. Some need more help than others and I never push but rather see how much they can do for themselves and be a standby-assist where necessary. I do for my clients what they can no longer do for themselves.
