Hello, my name is Libby Mileur. I am currently 19 years old and am going to school for nursing. I also have a job Monday-Friday working at a daycare/school. On my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I LOVE shopping and eating. I think i would personally be a good caregiver because I love helping people. I was a licensed CNA from 2004 to 2019. I became certified when I was just 17 years old and I have loved helping people my whole life. I have worked in skilled nursing facilities as well as in-home settings. I have been a medication technician (CMT) for four years, I administer medications per facility, state and federal law/guidelines by practicing inside my scope. I am also insulin & CPR certified by the state of Missouri and American Heart association. I am comfortable with administering insulin medication, subQ and orally. I am a nursing candidate at Mineral Area College, I have had ECG training along with the knowledge of A&P, Microbiology, Medical Terminology I & II, so I have a good grasp and understanding on how the medications and insulin works and what signs & symptoms to watch for. I was a C.N.A for 16 years and performed all duties of a certified nurses aide to allowable state and federal guidelines. I assisted with ADL's per family, staff and patient request. I have taken care of family members, like my grandmother until she passed when she was diagnosed with cancer in 2017. I have been witness to horrible diseases, genetic and acquired. I have held the hands of people ready to cross over and begin their next journey into the afterlife. Caring for others can sometimes be challenging because people are hard to please, but it's those of us who keep trying and find a way to pacify others that separates us from the rest. I pride myself on always being dependable, honest, and hard working. These are traits that I've acquired from starting work at a young age and the way I was raised. The most intriguing part of caregiving is simply in the name for me. To ensure that someone is being correctly assisted and their needs tended to, gives a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction. I also enjoy thoroughly getting to know the person I am working with/for. I believe when you form a more emotional and personal connection it can simply make the days more enjoyable and raises cooperation. The most relevant achievement that would apply to this question isn't an ordinary achievement; when I worked at Sparta Terrace (CILA House) I loved singing to the residents and having everyone join in and just cut loose to have fun for a bit.
