My first job, at age 10, was summer companion to my maternal grandmother. Working for the family matriarch required abundant labor (my grandmother was elderly), but the daily chores gave rise to an unexpected pleasure; I liked being responsible. For 12 lovely summers, I cleared the acorns from her croquet court, hiked to the store to buy her groceries, and delivered her (she did not drive) by rowboat to tea at the homes of neighbors. Within the formality of her cottage, I learned to be a responsible member of a household. And whether I felt like it or not, I learned to be good company. Still under my grandmother's spell, I have worked as a lady's companion and as a gentleman's secretary for more than 20 years. Although I am no longer gathering acorns, I accompany my employers on their travels, keep them company at cultural events, edit their memoirs, encourage them to draw and paint. I have found these employments to be congenial and remunerative. They give me great pleasure.

I have been in the caregiving field for 13+ years, both in private homes and skilled nursing facilities. I am a highly skilled, reliable, and gifted caregiver. I serve my clients with the utmost respect, compassion, and kindness. My clients and their families find me to be pleasant and lighthearted. I listen well and am extremely intuitive and empathetic in my caregiving. I initially became a caregiver because of my great-grandmother, who lived with my family from the time I was two years old until she fell and broke her hip when I was seventeen. She was a truly lovely woman and spent the last year of her life in a nursing home. I have always felt that by becoming a caregiver, my care of others somehow extends to her, even though she's been long gone from this earth plane. There's so much I enjoy about caregiving. It is a joy to know that my assistance helps to lift the hearts and ease the minds of those I care for and their families. I find great joy in connecting with the people in my care, in communicating with them, hearing their stories or their families stories about them, of connecting heart to heart. I love how much caregiving has, and continues to, expand my heart and my capacity to hold others with ever greater respect, compassion, understanding, and kindness. I am happy to provide references upon request.

what make me a great caregiver are empathy, and compassion. For one to be a great caregiver, one must have empathy, and compassion to be able to care for individuals especially the elderly because it requires patience and a great attitude to be compassionate. We are all going to be aged one day, and it is someone that would be there to care for us if we are unable to do certain things on our own. I chose to be a caregiver because I started as a child growing up caring for my grandmother who partially lost her memory until she passed on, and as a result I feel I have done something that requires reward. It was not easy, but the positives surpassed the negatives. I decided to continue where I stopped to continue to care for individuals who need assistance and would feel loved because someone cares. I am proud of my achievements because I have continued to add smiles to someone's face, and make them feel loved.

I have a friendly personality and, that might not be in general what makes me really great at everything I do but, it sure has a high standard that accompanies my level of skills. I don't remember ever failing to an assignment where I embrace "PATIENCE" to top my challenges. That's also one of my considering skill. I categorize myself to a needy position to what everyone is looking for to be happy with life and, it's "SATISFACTION". I always go hard as it requires to reach out satisfaction to all my clients. Because satisfaction plays a major role to success. Everything that brings success comes along with "God, FAILURE, PATIENCE, MOTIVATION, DETERMINATION, HARD WORKING, RESPECT and all that brings SATISFACTION then SUCCESS. What attracted me being a caregiver is the smile I empower to bring to both sides of my clients and their families. I feel a hero to be able to bring peace and joy to elders. Their happiness is what makes me happy. And that's what enjoys me most about being a caregiver. I'd lose count if I'd have to explain about personal achievements I'm proud of but, I'll go with a recent one. Not too long ago, I started a new case where like so many caregivers have tried to work the case out but, found themselves in bad positions to keep up with the assignment. The patient family even said that was their last tryout for their love one because the patient is TOTAL CARE and very demented. She fights a lot and the patient is very strong. Thx God with my skills, I'm the only caregiver that lasts longer with the patient and I'm still running her assignment. I know what song to play to make her take her meds. I know how to approach her to calm her down and make her listen to me and I know how patient that I gotta be to have her get in the shower for me. She's doing way better than before. It's all joy now in this family's house
