I have always loved to help others in any way I can. I believe that not only do they get their needs met, but I too, get something out of our time together. I get the privilege to get to know them, I get to hear their story, I get to walk away with something more than I started with. It makes me a happier person. I have been able to work with almost anyone, someone that has been thru a lot and has little trust. It takes patience but it is worth every bit of time I put into it! They give me as much if not more than I give them.

People often describe me as one of the kindest people they know. I believe I was put on this earth to help people, and caring for others is the way I choose to satisfy this calling. I was raised in a family that always went above and beyond for other people. As a child we often had someone staying in our guest room to help them through hard times and getting back on their feet. My mother is a pharmacist who owns our family business with my father. Working in and around the pharmacy has exposed me to people from all walks of life, and gave me the desire to work more hands on with patients. I have spent most of my life helping to care for my younger sibling with severe physical disabilities. In 2020 I began my first job as a PSS. I took care of one client full time, she had Lewy Body Dementia and was hospice. Here is where I found my love for memory care and end of life care. It isn't an easy job, and many people can't do it. But I love that I am able to give the gift of support and caregiving to my clients and families during these trying times. As I am also a licensed cosmetologist I also am happy to provide my clients hair with services, nail care, and skin care. With the risk of COVID-19 still widespread this is a perk many clients love as they don't have to leave home and expose themselves to receive these services. I am timely, reliable, and will go above and beyond to provide the best quality of care possible. I look at my job like this: If this was my parent, how would I want them taken care of? And that is the standard I hold myself to.

I love being a caregiver because I enjoy helping people. I've been in healthcare since I was 16 years old, starting off as a dietary aide and then furthering my career in a long term care facility where I got my CRMA license. I'm a very outgoing and talkative person, I think that is what makes me a good caregiver. Not to mention i'm always reliable, i'm always somewhere when i'm supposed to be.

At the small age of 9 i would help my aunt take care of my Great grandmother. Dressing and feeding and just being there for her. I've always wanted to be someones light in their darkest times. Taking great care of people is what I know. I've done caregiving my whole life and I always enjoy meeting new people and hearing the stories of how life used to be. I believe everyone deserves to have a good life even better a great ending. No one should ever feel unloved or wanted when they need help. I want to make life easier for other's, as we know illness doesn't make anything easy. I moved to lincolnville to help take care of a family member before corona. She had dementia and Alzheimer's as well as DVT. She passed away october 2020. She was and is an amazing soul. To put it simply, I love what I do and I love to help anyway i possibly can.

As a DSP for 6 years, I have always loved caring for others and improving the lives of other people in any way I can. Whether that be assisting with daily tasks, helping to achieve personal growth/goals, or just being able to put a smile on someone's face! I pride myself on being a kind and compassionate person.

I am a great listener and observer. I am comfortable working with all ages. I have not been a personal caregiver, however, I am a natural caregiver in many ways. Throughout my career, I have chosen to work with people who need some assistance with either solving personal problems, or have difficulty in expressing themselves. Hello! I have been a caregiver for most of my life, and my career. I am a caregiver at heart and find that the most important thing in life is to be kind, work hard and take care of those placed in your path. I have been caring for the aged and those with dementia for over 25 years. In my past, I had a residential care home and an Adult Day Center and they were the best 15 years of my life! Caregiving allows one to be part of something bigger than yourself. Giving of yourself, whether it is a helping hand, assisting someone to do something they can no longer do by themselves, and providing care at a level of compassion and patience that one would expect if the shoe was on the other foot. To me, it's about what you leave behind - touch someone's life for the better.
