I have yet to get used to the Florida summers. However, I do enjoy and embrace the Flora, Foliage and Fauna. I see something new everyday. My new favorite Florida bird is the Painted Bunting. I have been in the healthcare field for 8 years! I began this journey when I was 18, working for Hiawatha Homes, then I worked privately for a lady in her home for 5 years and while working for her I obtained my CNA and also began working for Madonna Towers.

I am passionate about providing direct care. I am friendly, compassionate, loyal. I enjoy meeting new people and learning about other people's lives. I am CPR and First Aid certified. I started as a Direct Care Professional in 1998 and moved my up to my current role of Program Director.

I am 61 years old, and not ready to retire. I came to caregiving through a friend who has MS and I became her live-in PCA (Personal Care Assistant). Throughout my working life, I have worked a variety of jobs which has exposed me to many different walks of life. For over 20 years I worked in one industry: parking, either in parking enforcement or customer service. When I leave my current position as a PCA, I will seek a similar live-in position as a PCA in my home state of Arizona.

I do have a CNA license. However I don't feel comfortable releasing the number online. I like being a caregiver mainly because I believe empathy is key to enjoying life. I have seen so much in the years I have been at the nursing home, everyone needs empathy and I hope with every encounter I have- even outside of work that I show that.
