I have been taking care people since i was 11. I started nursing when i was in middle school . what attracted me to do nursing is because all i like doing is helping and caring. What i like about is is seeing my clients smile and that tells me I for sure did my job ..Im proud of all my nurses achievement

I have always been the caregiver in my family from my grandmother who suffered a heart attack when I was 11 up to 2016 when my mother-in-law became ill with Parkinson's. It gives me a sense of fulfillment when I make my clients smile...whether it is from cooking their favorite meal or just listening to their life stories. Since I have trained in two different modern health facilities, I am very aware of what to watch for to prevent medical emergencies. My previous clients' families have nicknamed me "Angel" because I always want to make their stressed lives easier...and to create an environment where they can ENJOY being with their loved ones again. I am proud that I am very close to obtaining my CNA license (taking the Oklahoma State Exam in August), having taken 16+ senior homecare courses and training with the very best homecare agencies. I am looking forward to using my God-given talents to help seniors enjoy their lives to the fullest.

I work out and lift weights. Walking, running, stretching and home workouts as well. I am my families chef. I meal plan for myself and family members. Learned down south cooking from my grandmother and can make peach cobbler and sweet potato pie plus more. I love conversation and hearing about people's life stories. Learned how to play hun rummy from my mother at a young age. Very helpful around the house and love to put furniture together. Very kind and patient. My journey into Home Health, Hospice and Caregiving started unexpectedly and quite personally. My then 16-year old daughter was diagnosed with a very rare malignant brain tumor. Fast forward 21 years. Although I enjoyed a very successful career as an IT Consultant, it was not emotionally satisfying. I am a caregiver at heart. I have cared for a young woman, now a young adult since her diagnosis with muscular dystrophy as a child. This is on an as-needed basis and she now enjoys independence in her own home. Working with my elderly families has been extremely rewarding. And caring for someone in their final season of life is something God put me on this earth to do. I raise an amazing teen granddaughter and she keeps me young at heart. Her love for pets keeps me on my toes with her two dogs, one cat and Waldo - her turtle. I am enrolling in the WINGS program and will receive my Certified Nursing Assistant(CNA)/Home Health Aide Certification in fall of 2020. This will be immediately followed by their Medication Management Certification program. Although I have performed in these roles and more for two decades, I have only recently decided to accomplish these Certifications. *Note, Any overnight, weekend or holiday shifts will be on an exception basis only*

I love working with the Elderly and the disabled because I've always like helping people threw my life time. Friends family and I've done homecare 3 yrs for my mom and I did homecare 4and 1/2 yrs for my grandfather till he passed at 99 yrs old and I had a wonderful experience with him and I wanted his last year's to be happy and I wanted to let him know that he was appreciated and loved still. Because he thought he was a burden. I made him feel happy to be alive . I love to let people know that " It don't matter how old or if you can't do the things you use to do , it's ok because once upon a time you did and you will always be remembered. You left a mark in someone's heart or mind and they became the person they are and your friends and loved ones will always remember you. So now it's your time to relax and enjoy your retirement. You did your part in this world and now it's ower turn to make sure we make you happy and thank you for what you've done and it's our turn to make a difference in this world. And my difference in this world is helping our elderly and our handicap and the needy. That's where I feel I make a difference and I believe I'm needed and that's why I love working in this field. Hello! I'm Elizabeth and I have a soft spot for taking care of people, whether it's young children or the elderly who aren't able to take care of themselves 100% anymore. I started taking care of my grandparents, mostly my grandmother, at the time when I was about 12 years old all the way up until she passed away when I was 18. Being able to help her in ways she wasn't able to made me feel like I was giving back to her, and my whole family. I loved cooking and baking things for her and keeping her company. I would also run errands for her, go shopping for groceries and other things of that sort. She became my best friend. I put 100% into everything I did for her. And now I take care of my grandpa when he needs me too, I do his taxes for him and run errands with him. A couple of years after she had passed I went and was a dietary cook/aide at a retirement home, I wanted to keep giving back and helping the elderly as much as I could. If something was on the menu and I knew some of the residents didn't particularly like what was going to be served I would go to each room and ask if they would prefer something different for the meal. I wanted everyone to feel like they mattered to me. One of the things that really makes me feel good about being a caregiver is when I can tell I make their day better. Seeing them happy made my heart smile. I'm most proud of myself for how far I have came in life. I didn't have many real friends growing up, I was always way to nice to everyone and I was always taken advantage of by my peers. I have learned that not everyone is perfect and that's okay.
