I have 7 years of experience as a caregiver. I have worked with people with dementia and Alzheimers. I have showered previous clients, helped with transfers, light house keeping duties, and helped prep meals. What I like about my job is I get to help people with there needs and do something I always had enjoyed, I love getting to know people and share about their life style their likes and companionship and I think it is great to know how can we make a difference in people's life. I know working with elders it gets harder every day to achieve daily activities. That's why I like my field of work as caregiving, I have a lot of passion and care about people in theirs needs. My achievements was to get my CNA LICENSE and I did it I accomplished my goal and now I'm just a regular care giver bit a CNA license.

My primary concern as a caregiver is to make sure that my client is able to function at the best of their ability and to make sure that they are having the highest quality of life that they are able to have. I am not only there for my client but I am also there for the family (such as: to let them go grocery shopping, are just to be another set of ears at doctor appointments or for the family. After a few days with the client and the family I begin to consider them family. I have a great amount of nurturing and empathy, some say I care to much but I give 150% to my clients and families. I enjoy order and dispensing medication, relating to my clients, enjoy the pass and working on family history. I have no parents or grandparents so my clients kind of fill these roles. I have been a first responder, EMT, CPR Instructor, nurse's aide, and medication aide. My personal achievement that I am most proud of is having a D.N.S. that I work with for a long time trust me to teach new nurse's the medication routine and to be a charge nurse. As a personal care giver the highest praise I can be given is for my client to tell me I must be an angel and that they love me.

Since I was a very young girl when asked what I want to do I've always been able to respond in the same way: I want to help people. I've always been driven to grow and improve. This desire also extends out to the people around me. As a caregiver, I go out of my way to ensure my client's needs are met before that of my own. I try to get to know each person as what they really are: an incredible human being, with a LOT to offer. I always try to learn something from my incounters, no matter how brief the engagement.
