My name is Shantell. I am a proud mother of three wonderful adult children and blessed with three amazing grandchildren. I have been working in health care since a young age, starting off being a health care aide for my blind grandmother at the tender age of 8 years old. From there on I found my passion in life. During my years as working as a personal care aide, I had the opportunity to take care of my parents during their last days. In doing so, I was able to gain a personal insight on the importance of having the right person taking care of your loved ones, which gave me an even greater passion for the work I do. I realized the importance of giving each and every person who I take care of the same love and care as I gave my loved ones while taking care of them. As well as the respect and honor to have the opportunity to be a part of their life.

I'm a great caregiver because I'm very helpful and patient with my clients . Being able to help someone in need is literally the best thing ever making others feel better is a great feeling I'm capable to do things they aren't so I feel like it's my duty to help fulfill their needs .

What drew me into this career path is my love to help others. I am always thinking about others' needs and wants and try to be helpful to anyone I meet. I learned from our seniors who struggle with dementia, our children who struggle with genetic disease syndrome, and our family, friends and neighbors who struggle with mental illness. I have been blessed with the opportunity to work in the areas of geriatric, pediatric, and behavioral health nursing. The people in my care revealed to me without saying a word that the good job with the opportunity for growth and advancement that I was looking for was with me the whole time. I was the good job that needed to be done, and I have people like your loved ones to thank for that. Early in my career as a registered nurse I decided to focus on home care because it was depressing to be surrounded by sick people who had to wait for pain medication, and help with meals, bathing, grooming, and toileting, and I couldn't help all of them. Home care affords me the time to focus on my actual employer's business at hand. That is your loved one's needs and concerns.
