I am an optimistic energetic person. Always able to cheer up peoples loved ones during difficult times. I am loyal and reliable. I have been working privately on and off for a number of families starting at age 15. I have experience ranging from children with certain disabilities to sick adults. I had health problems that required some help when i was a young child. This is why i am happy and comfortable helping families in need.

I became a caregiver due to the fact my grandparents who both raised me both passed away in nursing homes. After I saw the care and how they were being treated, I made the decision to become a nurse assistant so I could possibly make a difference. I feel as though I have, I love what I do and couldn't see myself doing anything else. I'm a very compassionate person with a big heart and I truly enjoy helping others. I'm a good talker but a better listener and will do anything to make sure my patient is comfortable and taken care of emotional, physically, and personally. This is my calling and I have enjoyed these last 11 years doing this.

My mom was a CNA for over 20 years and she always said I should be a caregiver but fatei feel, brought me to doing this rewarding job. I am a caring and loving person. I provided much of the care as my mother was a private person. It was rewarding and I learned alot with the AD support group. I am retired from a career as a health plan worker and would now like to help those in need of companionship, health plan knowledge for appointment setting, rides to appointments and other chores that they may need. I spent as much time as possible after retirement, at the nursing home where my aunt was living. I spoke of family history, showed her pictures, played her favorite music and took her out to the garden area. She loved flowers. There are many elderly who are in need of companionship and I am available to provide that.

As an individual who spent her early years in a civil war, it was seriously sad to see people who were affected badly and had no one to care for them. Due to my passion for humanity, I found myself voluntarily helping victims in anyway I could as encountered them. After my transition to the US due to the war, I knew that caregiving was a part of me and decided to spent my career life doing that. As a care giver, it gives me nothing less that joy and excitement to know that I can be there for an individual during their most critical time of need and that I can also be a part of the team who nurture them back to recovery/health. I'm proud to say that I've worked with multiple clients who has successfully recovered fully as well as clients who has not. But again, such is life.

I consider myself a good listener, optimistic, patient, and sensitive to other people's feelings and emotions. I like taking care of others because it reminds me of the time I used to take care of my grandmother and spend time with her either during good times or bad times. What I enjoy the most about being a caregiver is listening to others while I make myself available to help them. I am proud of having a psychologist bachelors degree.
