I was too young to remember the story but my aunt says when I was 4 years old, that I comforted and reassured her when she was crying over a breakup with her boyfriend. I believe this was the beginning of my journey to care for others. I majored in Social Work and have had a wonderful 27 year career of working with children, adolescents and the aging. I have worked at UVA hospital where I gained insight into the importance of maintaining good health and how devastating a disease or accident is on one's health and life. I have worked for department of social services and assisted the aging with receiving the services needed to remain in their home or to move into a facility. At this time, I am doing "hands on" care in people's home to assist them with various activities of daily living. My mother was bedridden for many years and I was one of her primary caregivers. I know the burden on family when caring for a loved one and the importance of support. My grandfather lived to be 96 and I was there for him to assist with shopping, meal prep, housekeeping, medication reminders and transportation. I cherish the times that I spent with my mother and grandfather caring for them. I also cherish the support I received from others.

I am Bethany, I am 18. I'm hardworking, loving and very Caring. What attracts me to be a caregiver is I love helping and taking care of other people. I enjoy most about being a caregiver is giving patients/residents attention and helping them with their needs makes me happy that I can be there to help them and their families. A personal achievement I'm proud of is the capable of getting to be there for the patients/residents.

I am very proud to have successfully earned my Med. Tech License. I am a wife and a mother of two beautiful children. I am very dependable, trustworthy and respectful. I have been in this field of employment for many years, have great references, and would love to help take care of and spoil your loved one as if they we're my own family. This line of work isn't for everyone but I am positive that it is my calling. It comes naturally and easy to me when I am helping someone else with whatever assistance that they may need. I sincerely get pleasure from knowing that I helped make a difference in someone else's life.. no matter how big or small .

I began my journey into the Caregiver when my grandmother got sick and I knew it was my calling. I really enjoy being there for others always. I am very patient and very concerned in the happiness and comfortableness of my clients. I follow instructions well and I do like to do a daily journal of my clients day so the family knows all that has happened throughout my day with their loved one.

I am easily to get along with and very understanding, empathetic, and sympathetic. I care about others and always tell myself how would I feel if I were them. I'm a people person and drawn to help people. Doing this kind of work is priceless and it gives me joy to help. I have had people in my family I had yo take care of until their last breath and I know how it feels to not have proper care for your love ones and so I do my work whole heartedly.
