When I was 13 years old my grandparents were bed bound. I went to go visit them, got to meet with their in home caregiver. Seeing the difference she was making in their lives everyday just by showing up and interacting with them made them the happiest ever. I realized that i wanted to be that person. I want to be the person they look forward to seeing everyday when they don't have anything to look forward to. I want to be the person that helps them, not because it's my job but because getting to improve their moods and just help out in any way i can is one of the most rewarding things i can do to help other people. I believe that i would be best for this job because i have the drive to help others and make their days better, and i love getting to spend time with residents and just learn about them, hear about their stories and experiences they have had, and just spend time with them and try to make their day the greatest they can be. I think the personal achievement i am most proud of is when i first started working at puget sound, i didn't really know any of the residents yet and i was job shadowing. I walked into a room to check on them and one of the residents looked at me and looked very sad. I walked over to her and gave her a hug and told her i was glad to see her and asked how her day was. She looked at me and said it wasn't very good but it was getting better now, and i asked her why. She said "well no one has talked to me today and you were the first person to go out of your way just to talk to me and see how i was, not because you have to but because you wanted to. you're gonna be amazing at this job" and that hit me right in my heart and made me realize that how you act and the way you present yourself completely determines the interaction you have with these residents, and me going in there not even knowing how to do my job and just making her day that much better without even trying was my biggest accomplishment working with residents.

Hello! My name is Destine . Thank you for taking the time to read about me and my journey as a caregiver .I am a very compassionate caring and loving individual.I believe what makes me a great caregiver is the nine years experience that I have in the medical field as a certified nurse assistant, emergency technician, and part of administrative medical staff.I have had the pleasure of working with many patients that I have learned a great deal from.I have such a great passion for helping other individuals and for the medical field which is the main reason that has motivated me to continue my education within nursing.I find that the positive impact that I make on patients that I work with has allowed me to feel very fortunate to be able to work with in this field and to be able to make a positive differences within the lives of others. I greates personal achievement has been continuing my education and continuing to learn every day.
