There are many qualities that make one a great caregiver. My qualities are that I try to do my best when working with residents as well as trying to understand them. Aging out does not mean they do not have needs or that they should not be heard, I try to use critical thinking and make every resident as comfortable as possible so their needs are being met. I am an outgoing person I love to help others and exceed my job expectations, I am a carrying person who is easygoing and takes responsibilities as well as the needs of others seriously. I have a grandfather with dementia and this made me want to help others who need an assistant. I have seen the lack of caregivers there is for elders. I love caregiving because it allows me to have a better understanding of what goes on in others' life and I get to be part of people's life making a difference in assisting them or bringing them a smile. I am proud of the person I am and how far I have gotten with my psychology and social work bachelors that I am currently working on.

I am a 45 year old wife and mother of two grown children. I grew up in Roscoe and have stayed close to my family. I was in the auto industry at Chrysler for many years until I was laid off in 2021 and then I went to work for a local auto and homeowners' Insurance company the following year. I loved the customers at the ins. company. However, I became rather bothered by the extreme inflation and increase in homeowners' insurance rates for our customers in 2022/23, especially our senior customers. It just became unaffordable for much of our customer base. I decided that I would rather be part of an industry that helps seniors, rather than hinder seniors. I have been involved with senior care for the past year. My interest is to help elderly people with basic everyday needs. I specialize in companionship and housekeeping and whatever tasks need to be accomplished. I pride myself in keeping an uplifting spirit, personality and attitude. I lost a parent almost two years ago that suffered from dementia. I know the importance of having dependable and trustworthy help when it comes to an aging loved one. I work part-time for a company now doing the same type of thing. I am very interested in the needs of my clients. I prefer to work with women only. nothing against men. It's a comfort thing, but there may be exceptions. I am local and can provide great references. I am a "get it done" type of person when it's time to work.
