There are many qualities that make one a great caregiver. My qualities are that I try to do my best when working with residents as well as trying to understand them. Aging out does not mean they do not have needs or that they should not be heard, I try to use critical thinking and make every resident as comfortable as possible so their needs are being met. I am an outgoing person I love to help others and exceed my job expectations, I am a carrying person who is easygoing and takes responsibilities as well as the needs of others seriously. I have a grandfather with dementia and this made me want to help others who need an assistant. I have seen the lack of caregivers there is for elders. I love caregiving because it allows me to have a better understanding of what goes on in others' life and I get to be part of people's life making a difference in assisting them or bringing them a smile. I am proud of the person I am and how far I have gotten with my psychology and social work bachelors that I am currently working on.

I'm Celia and I have been serving others my entire life in my occupational fields of HR, education and now nursing as well as in my community as a Girl Scout leader, religious education teacher and moms/tots founder and organizer. I was a leader for an SOS trip to Memphis TN in Orange Mound to build roofs and create gardens for the well deserved residents in that neighborhood. I have raised 4 children who are all currently in college in the areas of Marine Biology, Nursing, Computer Science and Construction Management. I am resilient, outgoing, dependable, caring and compassionate. I enjoy serving others and helping them to be their very BEST version of theirselves no matter what biological age or journey they are currently on. Hi my name is Marissa, I started caregiving after I graduated highschool. I was very close with my grandma. She was my world. She passed away in 2009, and I honestly did it there on out. Elderly are super important to me and need to be loved. I love knowing I can help a family in need when I know how tough it is to care for a parent or family member when you have your own life to live as well, I enjoy it and it could be a good career. It's rough sometimes, and I miss who I've cared for but it is the circle of life. Dementia Alzheimers med giving Bed bound patients Bed baths med giving feeding. Gtube feeding switching out bags and adminstiring pills through gtube. Companionship weekly I'd buy lunch and we'd play games puzzles etc walks outside or simply staying in watching the news. I have given insulin for diabetics also checking blood sugar catheter changes and new ones! I am very qualifed for many positions. I was also a personal assistant as well, computer work, errands, work emails business calls.

I've always had a passion for helping others and wanted to pursue a career where I could. I worked in veterinary emergency care for 2 years and decided to see what other career paths I could take. Recently I decided to go to school to obtain my cna certification but have let the time needed lapse to stay active due to my most recent pregnancy complications. Through school I was able to get some experience during our clinical hours at the facility. I enjoyed my time there and loved having the chance to be there, feel needed and was able to make things easier for the residents-even if all I did that day was enjoy a small conversation with an individual. I am always pursing options to better myself and my future for my family. My sons are easily my greatest accomplishments and teach me how to love unconditionally, have patience and to stop and enjoy the simple moments in our day.
