Caregiving takes a special type of person. It can be very difficult for clients to receive help-- especially if it is through an agency that throws them a different caregiver every time. This job requires that you keep that thought in your mind at all times, and understand the discretion and quiet dignity that it calls for. Being younger can cause an issue for me due to the "generation gap" between me and my clients; however, what I lack in that area, I make up for with a lot of love (and a little goofiness, because that's important too). Although I am newer to this, I have had a lot of positive feedback so far, from both families and clients. I would prefer to work with someone consistently, so we can build a relationship that this type of care needs, which in turn will be less of an intrusion on my client's personal space since they will be seeing a familiar, smiling face. My job is extremely fulfilling, and I often go home with my heart FULL!! I can see myself doing this for a long, long time. I worked as a CNA for 16 yrs (3 years as a PCW) until I went back to school for my associates in Medical Administration. I went into the field as I love taking care of others. I find it to be very rewarding, like no other career. Helping others with daily life skills, no matter what it is, brings joy to my life. Knowing I make a difference feels good. I am very professional as I have worked in the field for such a long time. I am sensitive to a person's needs as well. It is very important to me to that the client/patient is taken care of as well. At some point in our lives we all will require help. It is so important that we remember this as we care for another in need. I am looking to work the overnight shift 2-3 nights per week or 5-6 shifts in a 2-week pay period. I am available to work between 7p-9a. I am also willing to work longer shifts up to 15 hours per shift. I would like to stay around 30 per week as I am enrolled in an online Medical Transcription course presently.
