Growing up I always helped my grandma who was a full blown diabetic and had multiple issues. At the age of 18 I started caring for others that weren't my grandmother and I knew I wanted to always care for elderly. I was raised by my grandmother so i feel that brings me closer to my clients since I grew up on a lot of things they may enjoy.

I'm a quiet person but can carry on conversation. I like to make sure people are taken care of and happy. I have been a behavioral health tech for a local mental health hospital for 1.5 years. My son is what makes me proud.

Hello! My name is Erica! I have been in caregiving for a while now, it started with animals and I loved that for almost 10 years then I realized I wanted to do something bigger and I began my job at riverpark hospital as a mental health technician. I work with children, adolescents and adults. Each patient remembers me when I walk into their unit, they always make my day so much better. I have a smile that'll light up a room and a laugh thats contagious. I recieved custody of my step fathers son who was non-verbal autistic back in 2015, I taught him to feed himself, dress himself and even shower! We began working on words and had accomplished quite a few when the state took him back in 2016. It was short lived but it peaked my interest in helping others. Caregiving to me is so full of benefits for not only the patient but myself, I have realized not only can I teach but I can also learn from my patients. I have a very active life outside of work and I want to help others be active and healthy as well!

I like to crochet blankets, write, ride horses, garden, and spend time with my family. I also like to read books aloud.
