I am 63 years old! I enjoy caregiving particularly listening to life experiences and memories of my clients. I have a cleaning company so I am excellent at keeping house and had a restaurant in my past so I am a pretty good cook. I have been caregiving for many years and enjoy working with elderly. I was a client care coordinator and worked in activities in a memory care unit so I am able to advocate services and keep my clients busy.

I started in Healthcare and people work in 2009 ! I'm cpi,cpr,dementia,qmap certified. Have all my vaccines .I have a life time of experience in people empathy love compassion the natural ability to calm and soothe people whenever needed [?] being someone's person in life and in memory is what drives me and gets me also the people care I need [?] I absolutely adore helping and seeing healthy impacts and improvements that I have helped make possible!

Single mom of a little boy! 2 years of caregiving experience.

I basically have been a caregiver my entire adult life, but in many different aspects. I have an AAS degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant & worked in many different areas as a PT assistant. I have spent a number of years, doing inpatient PT, outpatient PT, long term care & home health PT. I worked as a PT assistant for 17 years. I then went back to school & became a Licensed Massage Therapist & have worked in many different settings as a massage therapist. I do have about a years experience as a personal care provider, I performed duties such as medication reminders, bathing, light meal prep , housekeeping, laundry & assisting him with filling out paperwork to get further help then he was receiving. Also, transportation to Dr. Appointments. I really enjoy getting to know the client & what the clients likes & dislikes are, so I can take care of the client to the best of my ability.

I like being a caregiver because it gives me a purpose, not just a paycheck. It has been my experience that most of the clients I have been around feel that they are a burden to those around them and get depressed, so comimg in and having the attitude that I get to come in and make them feel better about themselves and make a difference in their life is one of the greatest joys in my life. I'm always proud of myself when clients are happy with the job I have done for them, and ask when I'm coming back.

I am a very bubbly person and love to make my clients laugh and happy. I make sure my clients are content before I leave them. The thing I enjoy the most about being a caregiver is that I can make someone feel better and have the company they need

I'm quiet and reserved. Respecting clients personal beliefs. I'm there for the clients needs. Keeping them safe, healthy and happy within my scope of practice. I respect the families requests as long as the care doesn't interfere with their personal rights. I've enjoyed caregiving because I'm able to utilize my personal gifts in giving freely without judgement. I observe by clients to learn their personality traits. By doing this I'm able to communicate effectively. Each client deserves their own care plan based on their own personal needs. I've worked with mentally disabled clients and I'm able to read their needs and requests without verbal communication because I'm in caring for them whole hearted.

My compassion and empathy I believe make me a good care giver. I started in the health care field at 14 years old working at an Assisted Living Facality in Palisade, Colorado. I have done health care in varying degrees ever since (am 36 years old now) so for a total of 22 years. I have worked in Nursing Homes (as a CNA), Assisted Living Homes (as a caregiver / QMAP), Independant Living ( as a caregiver / QMAP), and Home Health Care.

I've been in the care field for almost over a year now, I am certified to pass Medication in the state of Colorado, and I am trained for transfers with gate belts. I've worked in dementia and Alzheimer's units as the lead QMAP, mostly at nights. I'm beyond willing to work in home with the patient and stay over night on weekends. I know I'm a little younger but i am well beyond my years. Im very energetic and a happy go lucky girl. I love music and sharing that with my residents. I can cook and clean very well and I'm great under pressure. I love what I do and feel that I am great at what I do.
