I am hard working, patient and compassionate. I am able to handle any situation that comes my way, while keeping my composure. I was attracted to this field of work because I believe in making the best possible use of what you have. Being patient and "passive" is not always viewed as a positive thing, but if I can leverage my personality traits to build professional relationships that are mutually beneficial, I believe that is a truly rewarding experience. I am a natural problem solver and that's what makes this job enjoyable for me. I like the fact that every day is different and brings new challenges that translate into learning experiences. I aim to learn as much as possible, at all times, regardless of circumstance. I am proud of the fact that I am able to remain positive and take something away from each experience I have in life.
I love making a different in the lives of others. After caring for my father for five years in Africa, I realized this is a profession that I'm good at and passionate about. When working with my father, I developed patience and empathy, and also have been working as a caregiver for about 5 years with a lot of experience. In the event of an emergency, I would recall the training I have learned and immediately follow the standard protocol and call 9-1-1 if needed. I have active CPR certification, so I feel confident performing that, If required

My compassion for the infirmed/disabled individuals both young & old has compelled me to seek my CNA in 1987 in RI. Loosing my mother at a young age made me feel 'helpless' to prevent/assist her in her time of need. I give the kind of care that I would want if in their position/situation. This is fulfilling in various ways as I form relationships w/clients. A unique 'accomplishment' was helping w/hospice in CA in transitioning clients towards readiness for dying without feeling alone/lonely. My feelings are genuine & sincere, I am confident, reliable, and respect the rights of others.
I am a former special education teacher with 38 years of experience. I left to be home more often with my 85-year-old father who lived with me and had dementia as well as other health concerns. He was the love of my life and I was determined to keep him home with me, but I needed to have some steady income. Prior to my father's passing a year ago, I took care of my mother as well. She had vascular dementia secondary to diabetes as well as other health concerns and was a very difficult person; however, my parents always took excellent care of me and now it was my turn to pay them back rather than turn my back. I was lucky to be in position to do this.
I cooked, cleaned, did laundry, med management, took them to doctor appointments as far away as Hartford, administered weekly blood tests for INR levels, consulted with all agencies as needed (and took all phone calls) as well as every other aspect of running a household and managing a person's life. I loved every minute of it, although it was not without its challenges! I do believe that I can be a valuable asset to you.

Sunshine Elderly Care, LLC
My name is Melissa and I am 27 years old. I first became a CNA when my grandfather became ill, i realized how much to meant to him and myself to be there to help provide any care he needed. In that time we became so close. So i then became certified in the summer of 2015. I have then got in a few years of experience in a couple longterm units and a little while after began working in the rehab units. I have a great family of my own. A great husband and perfect little girls that are ages 5 and 9. They definitely keep me going! I cant forget our black cat- Blackie and one guinea pig named henry. We are all animal lovers and luckily our kitty and pig get along! Other interests of mine are traveling and sight seeing, visits to the beach, outdoors with the family, watching a good movie here and now and recently focusing on and making goals to being healthy! Many would say my personality shows that am hardworking, driven by success, encouraging to others, caring, out-going and understanding.
