I took care of my father and grandfather in there last months of life. This is what gave me the desire to become and caregiver. I love being able to help clients be able to stay in their homes and provide the championship they may be needing. When covid first hit I did around the clock care for one client until she passed cause she had no family members.

Ive done home health care with the elderly. I work with 2 other home care company's as well. I love working with and for the elderly. I am very organized and love conversation. I have done everything for clients that's asked and more. I can feed, make meals, clean, companionship, use hoyer lift, toileting, changing, organizing, changing urine bags, shopping for groceries, transportation to Dr apts, etc

I look at my individuals as if they were my loved ones I would treat them with the same respect and care for them the same also make them feel as comfortable and safe as possible. Love the fact that i am able to help out and make them feel more independent.

I'm attracted to being a caregiver because I used to work in a nursing home as a cook an dietary aide, and seen some of them nurses mistreating the residents an it hurt because that could be anyone of my family member some day. So I wanted to make a difference in people's lives, I love people an listening to their story of life. Happiness, opportunity to grow an learn new things as well as making a long lasting companionship with the person I may be caring for is what I enjoy the most about being a caregiver. Personally completing my GED after being told I would never amount to anything, is one of my most proud personal achievements, besides become a father and raising my children the right way.
