Hello my name is Alexis, I do prefer to be called Lex. A few of my personality traits are personable, ambitious, thoughtful, selfless, dedicated. I wanted to become a care giver after caring for my grandmother who has dementia and my mother after she broke her ankle and became non weight bearing. I was told by family that I was very good and a natural and should become a nurse, but I'd much rather do more of the same as I did with my mom and grandmother.

I am specialize in All Heimers dementia Parkinson's I also deal with paraplegic patients adults I have also taken care of non-adults. My mom was ill for 12 months and I stayed with her every day in the hospital transferring from hospital to hospital and I wanted to do better for our elderly people because I seen the way they treated her and I didn't want someone else's mother or grandmother treated the same way. Giving our patients the companionship and not making them feel lonely. I am proud that I got my GED and it took me a long time but I went back to college and did a year of college to which I'm gonna go back and finish up my masters in cardiac echo grams.

I am a caregiver because I love people. There are not enough people to give care and attention to folks who need another set of strong yet gentle hands. There was one resident in particular that was hard for CNA staff to get along with. She wasn't very friendly at first but I squatted down in front of her, and explained this was the job I chose to do because I love helping people. She could see I was sincere, and warmed up to me knowing she wasn't a burden to me, and I liked helping her. I am in my second semester of school for Respiratory Therapy. I am love being in my yard gardening. My first grandchild will be 1 year old this July 21st. I'm a pretty good cook and a tidy house keeper.
