I think my experience is a big factor, I've been a caregiver for most of my adult life, I've only ever had maybe one or two non medical jobs, I pride myself on having a lot of empathy for my fellow man, and being skilled at the things I do. I find being a caregiver to be a rewarding job, because at the end of the day you feel like you've actually accomplished something. Thank you for your consideration!

I began my career in dentistry. I graduated from Indiana University with a certificate in Dental Assisting and earned my Expanded Functions of Dental Assisting in 1996 and went on to be a sophomore in dental hygiene and pre dental. While attending dental hygiene I became married and had my son Gabriel. During this time I took time away from school to stay home with my baby! When he was two I went to work as a Dental Assistant again. During this time I noticed Drs treating patients as numbers instead of people. So my nurse friend asked if I would like to work as a home health aide/ caregiver for home health Visiting Angels. I started working with Visiting Angels in 2013. And I found my purpose!! I worked with hospice, Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's, stroke, and being a companion. I have a lot of experience with medication reminders, bathing hygiene, ect. The thing I enjoy most about caregiving/ home health aide is putting smiles on my patients faces, helping them as much as I can so they know they are cared about. I treat each patient as I would want my family taken care of!! I'm very compassionate and patient. I give over 100% And I absolutely love what I do. I can go home at night knowing I helped someone, I put a smile on their faces or held their hand. I not only help them but they help me as well.

I strive to be optimistic and keep a positive environment for the clients I work with. I learn quickly and adapt well to new surroundings. I find it rewarding when working with and caring for others. I enjoy making others happy and just giving a listening ear when needed. I also enjoy doing what I can to make my clients' lives easier so that they can continue to enjoy the comfort of their own home and normal activities.

Hello! My names Katrina ive been in home health since I was 13 years old! I started with children who had special needs. I worked with them for about 5 years then started to lean more towards the elderly who really just need a lending hand at home a companion etc. Though I take my job very seriously and dont mind doing the dirty work as well bed baths toileting bed side commodes. I am experianced with hoyer lifts I am CPR certified and First Aid. I'm fluent in sign language for those who may have a family member who is hard of hearing or deaf. Its exhausting to type an entire bio and I much prefer to talk on the phone. I am a loving bubbly person who just cares alot for people family or not sometimes a little too much and sometimes thats okay! I became a caregiver at the early age of 14 when my grandfather suffered a stroke which paralyzed the entire right side of his body. Ever since then, when I graduated high school in 2014, I began working for the nursing homes, & for multiple people in the area in need of a caregiver. I enjoy the companionships that are built thru trusting and support. I'm proud of the caregiver I am, because a lot of my clients/ patients have no one to support them, and knowing I am the one that's there to make sure they eat, & are properly bathed means a lot to me. I take my job seriously.
