All of my experience has been hands-on and I can assist in all aspects of home care from companionship to bathing/dressing, to meal preparation. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is it helps me greatly and gives me the courage to take care of my son who is autistic. I became a caregiver first and foremost for the flexibility of the the job. When my kids were younger, this career gave me the opportunity to be home with them and work nights. I moved on to becoming an Administrative Assistant for more than 18 years. I was laid off from my job due to the last recession and I jumped back on my skills to continue giving care to the elderly. I enjoy helping the elderly in all walks of life. Some of the qualities I have are: I am compassionate, I get along with people, I am conscientious, reliable, and above all trust worthy. I was a valuable support for my clients, helping then with all the activities of their daily living, I cooked and served meals, I assisted with medications, I shopped for food and personal items, I provided transport/ accompanied clients to doctor's appointments. I was with one of my clients last year and realized that she needed to go to the hospital. I called the emergency service and stayed with her at the hospital till the family made alternative arrangement. When she was later discharged, I stayed and cared for her till she passed. I have now become a trusted friend of the family.

I became caregiver because I use to take care my Mom when she was seek and I love when I was doing it that's why I know as soon I have a chance to learn how to do it better I got it and become Nursing was my dream since I was a kid I thank God that. I have my little boy he was diagnosed with asthma before I was worried about now I know how to take care of him , what to make eat for health to be strong before I has to see his pediatrician every 2 and go to emergency every 2 times a month right now he can play all day long , even his pediatrician got surprised he is in good health I make him eat more vegetables , fruits, he drinks more water than juice he is happy and I am happy we don't visit any emergency room for 2 years, no more medication at school even at school, I am proud of that and I thank God.

I have an experience working in Healthcare fields such as Nursing homes and Home health care. Helping others getting the care they need and seeing their satisfaction gives me a joy. I like spending time with my clients and be there for them throughout my care. I worked with different kinds of clients with different situations which helped me improve my skills. I love taking care of my residents and clients and I am always proud of it.

I took care of my sick mother until she passed away. Later, a friend introduced me to the field of caregiving. Though I had formerly been a school teacher, caregiving fit like a glove. A client once asked me why I chose this profession, and I told her that I wanted to make a difference in people's lives. I offer personal care, housekeeping services, and companionship. When my client was dying, I held her hand the entire time, not knowing that the daughter had entered the room and observed my action. After her death I received a note from the daughter describing how she had been touched by my action. As a former teacher, I am punctual, compassionate, empathetic, and sentimental; I laugh and cry with my clients. My current job involves caring for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes. I have recently been providing a client with personal hygiene in the morning through CareLinx.
