I am a healthcare professional with 25+ years experience working in geriatric, memory care, dementia and Alzheimer's patients. I work in hospice care, palliative medicine, end of life care. I am a patient, compassionate, good listener, kind, caring caregiver. I do skilled nursing, wound care, first aid, post surgery care for transitioning patients to homecare. My start in healthcare was volunteering at the Red Cross, church and community outreach , I have worked eight years at the Washtenaw County DHS with CLS/CMH organizations as consumer advocate . I have worked long years managing assisted living facilities, nursing homes, directing memory care units, training, teaching and mentoring. I have earned Bachelor's of Science from EMU and Surgical Technology program from WCC. I am passionate about helping people to better their lives and improve their health.

Some traits that I have that are necessary in the health care industry are patience, great communication, attentiveness, loyal, humorous, caring & respectful. One thing that attracted to being a caregiver is the way my clients feel after I've done my shift, me being able to help someone is enough for me to have a great day! I enjoy helping them and the most I enjoy about it is that I'm able to learn about them, where they've grown up, the things they've accomplished, just hearing their lives makes me happy and I know it makes them happy as well.

What makes me a great caregiver is my smile, positive attitude and I'm caring. I love to help others in any way I can whether it is physical, mental or emotional, I'm a good listener. With all my hard work and dedication I am still progressing in my career, I will be attending school again to continue my career to become a Registered Nurse.

I have a great down to earth personality I love taking care of people I took card of my dad and my mom when they both were sick I enjoy helping people to the highest expectations I love the joy of knowing I'm giving the best care possible and the fulfillment of making people happy i am proud to say at one time I took card of 10 patients everyday for 4 months and altho it was a short time and it was a challenge I treated everyone with care and tended to all they needs on a timely manner .

I became a caregiver at the age of 17 helping my great grandmother. I transitioned into the health care field at the age of 18; I've worked in numerous health care facilities and hospice facilities. I enjoy connecting and meeting new souls. My clients often turn into family or friends. This is what makes my job amazing to me. I love and get along with people from all walks of life. Nursing is much more than a good job with great pay, it's a gift. It's the gift of life, on a daily basis your touching the lives of others, granting patients health, and hope of getting back home to family. Being a nurse is very rewarding and influential and rewarding career. Nurses care for people through illness, injury, pain, loss, dying, grieving, birth, growth, from adolescent to elderly. The love and compassion I have for nursing pores out into my daily life, as well as professional. Loving what what you do is one things but when you actually enjoy your career, the energy I put into it spills over to the care I provide and that only makes for my career choice that much more promising.
