My name is Alijah and I am a personal caregiver. I am empathetic, kind, trustworthy, and smart. I was attracted to caregiving with the prospect of being able to help others and I mostly enjoy the fact that I get to help care for my grandfather. An achievement I am most proud of is the fact that my grandfather talks to me and tells stories on the days I care for him when he is almost completely uncommunicative with everyone else all the rest of the time.

I started taking care of my grandmother at the young age of 8, from then on I decided to be a caregiver because it is a rewarding experience to see the smile on any elderly face. I am very dependable, trustworthy, and put in 110% in care-giving. Personal achievement are getting my certification in home health aide and nursing assistant, my next achievement is going to school to receive my nursing degree.

I'm very observant, a people's person who doesn't meet a stranger , strive to give my best to my residents . Caregiving has always been my call on earth .I have done caregiving on and off for 10 years. I love the feeling to know the elderly is taking care of, being helpful to them when they are unable.

What's makes me a great caregiver is the fact that I work based off of honesty and love!! It's my passion to make a difference in one's life.

Ever since my mother was diagnosed in 2016 with kidney cancer, I've taken a newfound appreciation for home health care. I helped my father and younger sister care for our mother in her last years. My family has instilled a kindness in me that I carry with me every single day, as it's part of who I am, of who they raised me to be. My parents taught me about how to reflect the love I've been given in my life back out into the world, and there's not a day that goes by that I don't think about how I can make a difference. I've learned a lot in my life about patience, about knowing to remain joyful in every day, as we are never promised tomorrow. I've been a caregiver for my father in the last few years as well, and I'll never regret that. Being someone who will listen, who will show up and be there for the ones we love, that is what is important to me. I hope I can be that pillar of support for others in my life, and I'm inspired by my parents kindness to do so. I enjoy being able to give others a chance at independence, to feel better about their situations knowing it doesn't have to be done alone. Helping my family in their time of need has been my greatest achievement, because at the end of the day the connections I carry through this life are what matter the most to me. I'm always wanting to learn, wanting to elevate my understanding of this life in how we can help each other, and my goal is to continue to bring that kindness instilled to me to every table I sit at in my life. My father and sister have lived their whole lives with diabetes, so I'm very familiar with treatments and knowing the signs for potential lows or highs in blood sugar levels. I believe in respecting people who need support and allow myself to be available however I can in their day to day life. I keep myself in good shape and have no problems with assisting in any heavy lifting a client may need.

My dad had a long-term illness from the time I was in middle school up until I was 25 yrs old I Assists him with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and getting to and from activities and meals according to the service plan by his doctor. encourage him to do as much of his care as possible. This is how I develop my love for taking care and assisting the elderly and those who have spec need I have a passion for people and aim to do right but with every individual encounter I love the outdoors I've always had a fascination with water. I like horseback riding and fishing, Music, dancing, poetry, and arts, just love being surrounded by Mother Nature with all her beauty and splendor. I sing come from a musical family. my friends and I enjoy doing karaoke every chance we get. I hope that I am fit to take care of your family's needs and looking forward to working with you
