I feel as though my personality helps me be a good caregiver. Being able to talk to clients helps a lot I enjoy being able to know that I make a change for my clients. I like making many new clients. Lots of my clients have no family. And I become family as I'm working with them. I'm proud for being a CNA but my greater accomplishment includes being accepted in RN school. Currently on leave for some things before heading back. I have been providing care for individuals since I was 14. I started out in a nursing home as a volunteer and continued working there until my late teens. At which point I got my CNAs and began doing home care. I have provided care for children as well as adults. Being that I am so versatile I can adapt to most any situation.
As a child I always dreamed of becoming a nurse. My grandma was my inspiration in my career. She basically raised me while my mother worked two sometimes three jobs to make ends meet. When I was a young teenage woman my grandma fell an broke her hip, this took a major toll on her health. At this point I took on the responsibility to care for her after my school work was done. She passed two months later comfortably surrounded with family, just the way she wanted to move on to heaven. Caregiving brings me the upmost joy, to see the joy on some ones face after giving honest compassionate humble care is the most heart warming feeling.

I think what makes me a great caregiver is that , i first build a relationship with my patient. I think of my patients as family , and i treat them how id want someone to treat my family members. I love all my patients equally. I became a caregiver because i've basi been doing it all my life, since 2006 with my grandparents. I am patient, understanding, kind, loving and i go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable.
I have 18 pluse years experience in care giving. I can work with patients with feeding tube. I have experience in wound care and trach care. I love taking care of people of all ages. I understand that when you are care giver in someone home that you have to respect the home and the family. I am proud that I worked with our elders to help ease this transition of this like phase. I am a 48 year old female . I am the mother of 2 and the grandmother of one. I am a member of the PTA at my grandsons school. I also volunteer with his Boy Scout troop. I also take the time once a month to visit nursing homes and walk through just to speak with the residents for a moment just so they know someone cares . It's not all about the money for me. I take my time to make sure all mt patients needs are met even if that is something as simple as listening to them and their family. These are some of the things that I feel make me a great caregiver. I love people not matter what race or what medical problems they may have. To care for others makes me feel great. I feel like that is my purpose in life
