I grew up in a diverse town called Lakewood, NJ. I have been working with people since 1994 beginning in the school system with students with behavioral and learning disabilities for 10 years (Howell BD OF Education) I worked for the state of NJ as a Youth Worker with juveniles that were classified serving time . I have nearly 10 years experiencing working at the Emergency Children's Shelter/Shore Youth Center. in Tom's River. Since 2006 I have been working at a MICA residential group home for men. I have worked these jobs because i wanted to make a difference in the lives of at risk youth, in many ways it's like a spiritual calling. Helping families during touch and challenging times has rarely been a problem for me in nearly 30 years, i look forward to going to work. Numerous times i worked 1 to 1 as a mentor providing wraparound services to youth and families in the community. As an former athlete i understand the true meaning of teamwork. In my spare time i write poetry translating the art of of professional artist as well as for my future poetry book. My personal goal is to establish my own outreach program in which i can provide services to the homeless population mobily , i assisted as a volunteer at Tent City in Lakewood. I am trained in basic First Aide/CPR, medication monitoring, safety, fire equipment , conflict resolution and many ongoing trainings annually.

I am a very down to earth person who loves being a caregiver. I got into this field because i've always wanted to help people since I was a young child, but it wasnt until I assisted with the care of my great-grandmother who had Alzheimer's that I really knew this is what I wanted to do! Im not a perfect person by any means, but I do try my very best to assure that I give all my clients the type of care I would want myself or my own family to receive!

Getting on a personal level, years ago, my father in law became ill with throat cancer. Over time he worsened. Hospice care was needed. Our family was close, I decided to give up my job and become his aide. We did Hospice at home and I was responsible for tube feeding him, changing and cleaning his feeding tube, grooming, medication distribution and basically making him as comfortable as he could be with love. This was heartbreaking and it made me realize that I have a passion for taking care of people in need. After his passing, I found work in health care. I chose to care for seniors and Veterans. I found myself paying extra close attention to seniors and veterans and going above and beyond my job title. Years later; my ex mother in law became very sick, dementia and Alzheimer's. Those are one of the worst diseases I've ever seen. I aided to her as best I could on my own. The disease overtime progressed so terribly that they decided to put her into a home, I found myself spending 4-5 hours a day after work just to be with her and comfort her, even though most of the time I was unrecognizable to her. I care. I have a passion for it. I have a huge heart. To know me it's to understand.
