I started working with people at a young age. I worked at a daycare for about two years and then moved to elderly care. I'm very kind hearted and a patient person. I love knowing that I'm helping someone's day become a little easier. I aspire to become a nurse one day and that is what I'm working towards. Ever since I started working in this field I love it I would never give it up !

Well I would think there are some who want to do it out of the goodness of their hearts. Being a caregiver can be a rewarding experience. If you have a good heart, and you want to give back to your community then this is a great way to do it. There are millions of sickly individuals who cannot care for themselves. Can you imagine the tragedy of knowing that you could have helped someone, but did not? Caregivers are there to help those who can't help themselves. Without caregivers those who are sickly or disabled would most likely die because they are not being cared for. As a result you would have upset family members, and we in society would have to live with the guilt of knowing that we could have done our part but we did not. If there were no caregivers then who would do it? Someone has to, and its a selfless occupation to have. Also many choose this path because they want to be a servant to the people. Being a public servant is admirable, and it should be encouraged. It helps promote more awareness, and it breeds compassion for those you don't know.My personal achievement is knowing I can help someone who needs a little or a large among of help, and knowing that he or she is safe hands. I am a mom a four and have be married for 30 years. I enjoy taking walks,hiking, helping others and spending time with my family

I am a person sympathetic who loves people, likes working never calls off. I love people and I love giving my best to help people in need. Sharing my time with others. The recognition that I receive every time I work with a family or an agency. The love I give to my patient, this love we share with my patients

I believe that a personal trait that helps me be a great caregiver is my compassion, empathy, and love I have for my residents. The thing I enjoy most about being a caregiver is making my residents laugh. A personal achievement I'm proud of is how much I've learned to soak up and love the little moments Life is short, lead with kindness and love.

I have always enjoyed being around my elders. I would spend time with my grandparents on both my mother and father side as often as I could. I began volunteering at a nursing home near my house and would go play games and paint the ladies nails and just spend time with the clients. I like hearing the stories about their pasts and being able to really see how much things have changed. I enjoy how much they value and appreciate the little things in life and simplicity. I am proud that I have such strong relationships with many assisted living homes and elderly clients. I enjoy cooking, cleaning and getting to know people. I am very good at knowing when to engage in conversation with a client or allow them their space and time. I am also wonderful at finding what a client loves most whether it is reading, puzzles, cooking, scrapbooking, ect and focusing my time and effort on helping them engage in that activity. I love offering my help and support to those in need and enjoy the relationships I have built and continue to build with my elders within this community.

I became a caregiver to share my respect for the elderly population by helping them to maintain respect and dignity in their later years. I want to help others to remain as independent and self sufficient as they can for as long as they can. I like to listen to the stories that my clients have to share. I like to help my clients to feel happy and to feel safe. An achievement that I am particularly proud of is knowing that a former client who became very special to me, was able to keep the relationships with her family and to mend the ones that she needed to mend.

My family has always been in the healthcare profession for most of their careers,starting with mom(nurse). I have been a caregiver for 25+ years now.The past 3 years I have been working in a senior housing doing Activities.Due to a Head injury 1 year ago-I lost my job for being out for this time..I am now able to work PT,and they couldnot accommodate.So I am seeking PT work.I do have a resident that I just started with yesterday-I will be working 6-10 hours a week with her-doing sewing,arts&crafts,manicures,walks,and possibly country rides!! Her family knows me thru my past job,and were excited to see that I'm on board to help them with their mom.. I could have been a nurse by now,but I'm a "Hands On" person,and get more satisfaction with one on one and getting to know people vs being a paper peddler so to speak! I also have been a big part of my mothers care,I have helped to keep her independant in her apt. for over 5 years,but now she is in middle stages of Alzheimers and needs 24/7 care and is hopefully going to a good place,close so we can continue to forfill her last days,months, or years HAPPY,and Content!! So I have had lots of experience in healthcare,just am unable to do a FT schedule due to my condition...I am now working 24 hrs. weekly,and have applied to many facilities. My LNA license has been renewed,and is good for the next 2 years.
