I believe what makes me a great caregiver is the experience I have. I have 5 years experience working for an agency and independently. I have significant experience with hospice care, dementia, Alzheimers , Parkinson's, COPD, cancers, companion care and the general everyday care of those that can't do things for themselves anymore like cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping and showers. I always keep medical books in the homes of my clients/patients. On every shift I always take blood pressure , temperature and oxygen so that Vitals can be monitored regularly for any changes. The medical books will keep logs of daily living such as any Dr appointments, mood changes, medications, vitals, daily diet and activities. It's important to catch/detect any change in health. Communication is big with me on keeping everyone on the same page so that the best care can be given at all times. I'm a registered health care aid, . CPR/First Aide certified. I became a health care aide because I believe our loved ones get better care at home from one on one care opposed to a nursing home.

First of all I enjoy everything there is to be about caring for someone's loved ones, I feel that just being with them and making sure they get the best out of life and meeting their needs is a big positive step to them being happy. I was very excited when I passed my exam to become a CNA and knew I was gonna make a difference in patients lives.
