The love I have for people whom can't help themselves what has help me to be a great caregiver from working in daycares to working in private homes with other love ones. What attracted me to being a caregiver is my family gave care for years I watched my mother work in nursing homes to private duty nursing as a little girl growing up to have a heart. Having spent decades of my life caring for my elderly patients and I love every minute of it, Such an honor for me ! Being a trusted caregiver for many years with patients from all walks of life in various stages in life; sometimes with physical/mental decline I offer care that you can trust. I have great compassion for others in some of the most vulnerable times of their lives when sometimes other family members cannot due to their own family and lives. I give those families comfort in knowing that I will do a good job taking care of their most precious loved ones. It was in nursing school that I knew being a caregiver to the elderly was my passion. I love that I can make individuals feel loved even though I'm not actual family but in time I do feel like family as they have become like family to me. I became a CAREGIVER because I have a natural instinct to help others. I feel that it's a "Calling". And I thoroughly enjoy working with the elderly, and hearing their stores. A personal achievement that I am proud of is being recognized with a Heart N Hands Award for my service to my elderly clients. I moved from California to Tennessee in 2003. After working in a Distribution Center for almost 2 years, I became a CAREGIVER and have been employed as such for over 10 years. I have an outgoing personality and get along well with others. I've been a caregiver for about 3 year now I'll like doing it. I wanted to get in to it when my mother got sick then my brother passed away of cancer and I helped out I knew I could do it. It's like you're going to a friends to help out with things that they're not able to do. Actually I would treat them like it's my own mother or father.

I am a 28-year-old female, living in Russellville, KY. Growing up my mother worked in Assisted Living Homes as an RN, I would go to work with her and spend many hours with the elderly residents. I would soon know that I was meant to work with the elders in life. Since then, I have worked in an assisted living home, a hospital and sat with a few families as well. Today I spend most of my time helping my own Grandmother with her day-to-day activities.

I have always had a desire for helping people especially the elderly. It's been a very rewarding career choice that I have always enjoyed doing. Knowing that I can help promote a person's well being towards maintaining their independence is rewarding to me. When I worked with a dementia client, helped to recall some of her memories through writing and reading exercises. My sister had many health problems in which; I encouraged her through daily functions similar to what she would do at home, helped with her transition from home to nursing home. Also, when I received my certification in nursing. I am a christian, loving,caring,devoted,reliable,efficient,responsible and love unity of family. My hobbies are reading, walking, meditate, pray, visit the sick and shut in, movies, love to volunteer my time helping those in need. I am a non smoker, do not drink alcohol, don't do any type of drugs. I have excellent references.
