I am a mother of 3. I love taking care of others. I love to cook. I have a degree in computer science. I have a pie business. I am now in a place where I love helping others. I have been taking care of my family for years and now I would like to help others that may need a little tinder care.

Born and raised here in Texas. Mother had me young so, my grandmother was my babysitter/ caregiver while mom and dad worked. I thought it was normal to always be around the elderly, at least It was to me. That's how and where my love for the elderly got started. It was planted, then later bloomed. While living abroad in Las Vegas, Nevada, 2014 Received the best training to be a PCA. learned about Caregiving, Trained in Hospice Care. - Assisting patients in bathing and dressing -Medication Reminder - Household assistance such as laundry, linens, housekeeping - Meal preparation - Shopping, transportation to and from - Companionship and assistance in enjoyment of daily life. I am absolutely willing and happy to help with respite care and or service. Because I understand that everyone in caregiving needs a break or just a little time alone to breathe. I became a part-time caregiver years ago when we discovered my dad had dementia in the 90s. I have always been a caregiver in my family . My background is in finance. Kids got to college and I decided I'd do what was in my heart! Love being a companion and helpful Guide when I'm needed in a shopping, cooking, housekeeping and overall balancing act for someone who just needs some assistance.

I began my journey 8 years ago when I became a certified nursing assistant. I have worked in long term care facilities, skilled nursing facilities, memory care facilities, hospice, and the hospital. I did not know what I was getting myself into in the beginning but somehow I felt that helping others was meant for me. Being a caregiver is who I am. I enjoy people and connecting with them even when it is a challenge to do so. Every person is unique and has different needs. I always do my best to make them feel comfortable while finding joy in the day. I am currently in my second year of nursing school with a graduation year of 2024. I have 3 children plus 3 step children age in range of 10-17. I have a four legged, super furry son name Kai. I work on the weekends on the med/surg unit at the hospital. Now that school is starting up I have time available to do what I love and that is helping others live a better life.

Compassion and empathy for others are traits that enables me to work well as a caregiver. The study of Gerontology at Edwards university convinced me that Positive Aging or Aging Gracefully is really attainable with the right tools and the right attitude in place. My mother assisted the elderly, I would help her from time to time. I knew it was the right thing to do. When I graduated high school, I went to work in a Nursing home as a Nurses Aide. The thing I enjoy most about caregiving is being able to encourage others to live and enjoy life one day at a time in spite of the circumstances. Securing the 83 hrs of Gerontology at St. Edwards University and the time I learned and worked for the City of Austin for 22 years. I started as a volunteer, Senior nutrition aide, promoted to Site Mgr. , promoted to Site Mgr. Supervisor, Promoted to Project Director, Senior Employment. When I retired I was acting Program manager of Senior Programs. These are two achievement I'm proud of. The greatest achievement was when a Hospice client was motivated, got up from bed and starting fixing her breakfast again.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I have over 25+ experience. I have been in the medical field, worked in hospital setting, clinic setting and in private practice caregiving. I have a wide range of caregiver experience from pediatric, adult and geriatric.

I am motivated and caring and I love to make people smile Helping people is what attracts me to being a caregiver I enjoy talking and begin able to be a listening ear to know that someone is grateful for you just being around is what make me love my job being a mother is what I'm most proud of.
