I have been a caretaker most of my adult life. I took care of my mother for several years while she was ill with Lupus and worked in several nursing homes, assisted living and independent living facilities. I understand the worry of having someone to assist and keep your love one company and ensuring that they are well "looked" after while you are away. I have been a certified nurse's assistant and activty director for both nursing homes and assisted living facilities and I understand the importance of keeping people activite and happy. Taking care of elderly or sick people is my passion. I cook very well, sew, do arts and crafts and can lead low to high elements of exercise. As an individual who spent her early years in a civil war, it was seriously sad to see people who were affected badly and had no one to care for them. Due to my passion for humanity, I found myself voluntarily helping victims in anyway I could as encountered them. After my transition to the US due to the war, I knew that caregiving was a part of me and decided to spent my career life doing that. As a care giver, it gives me nothing less that joy and excitement to know that I can be there for an individual during their most critical time of need and that I can also be a part of the team who nurture them back to recovery/health. I'm proud to say that I've worked with multiple clients who has successfully recovered fully as well as clients who has not. But again, such is life.

I have a lot of patience, watching my father go through moods caused by dementia and altzimers has helped me become more understanding and wanting to help people.

My father was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. It was my responsibility to be the sole caregiver for him for 3 months. My partner of 24 years was diagnosed with renal failure and I was his caregiver for 5 years of dialysis and hospitalization. I did home dialysis with a solution and later did blood dialysis at home. I did his daily pills, insulin injection, and all the standard household duties in our home.
