I began my fascination with healthcare as a child. I would polish my grandmother's white nursing shoes for her in the mornings as she was getting ready for work. She worked as a CNA at a nursing home in Lexington, VA. I remember looking at her and thinking I want to be just like her when I grow up. So as an adult I received my LPN and worked 18 years in Critical Care roles as well as skilled nursing home units in Roanoke and Martinsville to honor her memory. I've spent most of my life taking care of people because that is my passion and what I'm most proud of.

I retired in 2014 from Ultrasound. I have been in the medical field for over 40 years and have had many duties through those years. I started and a Radiologic Technologist then became a Medical Diagnostic Sonographer. From there I was Director of Radiology for 9 years. I started back in Ultrasound and retired from there. My original profession is very physically demanding and I can't work a 40 hour week at the pace required. I would like to help elderly or disabled persons to maintain a normal lifestyle.
