I am an honest, trustworthy, punctual, patient, outgoing and a dependable person who has true Christian standards when it comes to how I take care of people. I'm detail oriented and believe in the safety and positive wellbeing of those that I care for. I became a caregiver because after assisting my mom with my father who succumbed to Alzheimer's & cancer and assisted my sister -in- law with my brother who succumbed to cancer, I knew from helping my family that I could help other families in need. I enjoy being their companion and making them smile when they are having a difficult day. I sing to those I take care of sometimes. My personal achievement that I am proud of honestly is that I feel I helped to keep one of my clients alive a whole year longer because based on my observation (I cared for her for 3 years) I suggested that the medication shouldn't be given unless it was necessary vs. 3 or 4 times a day and the family listened and that made us all happy.
I have been a caregiver my whole life. I can remember as young as 8 years old, going to work with my mom visiting patients in their rooms, brushing the hair of a woman who was bed bound. I knew from an early age that taking care of others brought me joy. I attained a CNA Certificate in 1999 and have worked in nursing homes, rehab centers, private homes, one to one care, have also worked with terminally ill patients for a short time. I would love to go back to school for a Practical Nursing License in the near future.

I enjoy reading, travel and good conversations. I really like to learn from people especially seniors. I enjoy hearing stories and life experiences and I like to help people do what they need to do safely, with a little pampering along the way. I feel that I've done well when people tell me that they feel well cared for and safe around me. I assist people be and do their best and use words only when necessary. Because of my passed experience with Alzheimer's and Dementia, I pay close attention to the person's spoken and unspoken needs and try to accommodate without overwhelming the person but making sure the most important things to them/family are done.

I became a caregiver because I have a big heart when it come to People. And what I like most about being a caregiver is: Making a difference in someone life. The smile on their faces Is so over whelming and makes me feel I have done my job right. I have always enjoyed helping others so I know I am doing the right thing. What I'm most proud of achieving is : What I have learned over the last 15 years as a caregiver has been lots and lots of hands on training, Starting out as my parents caregiver and other family members, as a young adult. I have learned some interesting things and it has just stuck with me, I guess one of the hardest things in health care is working with hospice especially when it is a family member. Lost my sister to Cancer a few years ago. Nothing is easy when it comes to cancer, but my sister was comfortable knowing I was there with her til the end. A little about me: When I was a little girl my mother worked in a nursing home same place for 16yrs, everyday after school I went to my mother work, Oh I thought I was a big shot, she would let me do little things for her patients and they just fell in love with me. And to see all those people with big smiles on their faces just made my day.. But the best part of it was when my mother always told me, your good with people and your here on earth for a good purpose. and I now know exactly what she meant.!! I moved From Texas to here in Phoenix Az, I development Breast cancer 2014 and wasn't able to work due to being so Fatigue from all the Chemo and the last 6-weeks of Radiation, As I got stronger I merge slowly back to working, I am proud of the woman I have become today and all I have achieved in my life time.

I decided to be a caregiver because I'm an empathetic person who naturally enjoy helping people. What I like most about care giving is the ease of helping others. Care giving doesn't feel like work. In fact, when driving to work I actually feel like I'm simply going to take care of my grandmother, uncle, nephew, or niece. Personally, being a care giver is a lot like caring for your own family, by providing them with the loving support they need daily. My greatest achievement is being a wonderful, enriching, supportive mom. I enjoy, art, music, sports, creating happy feeling, smiling faces & wonderful environments!I I specialize in safety comfort and compassionate quality personal care.
