I believe I am a great caregiver because for one I've been caregiving for over twenty years, and have witnessed all types of cases over time. I am young enough to be flexible in physical abilities to better assist also mature enough to sympathize with all the aspects of losing their independence and needing extra assistance. I am a Mother and wife a home maker for my children. I treat my clients as if they were part of my own family with much care and respect..Thank You
I have worked as a CNA for over 9 years and as an HHA for over 5 years. I enjoy what I do. My goal is to become a nurse and being a CNA and a Caregiver is a good first step. Whenever I work with my clients, my aim is to find creative ways to encourage them to do something more than they have done before. Though working with various clients has its ups and downs, it is especially exciting for me to see someone get better while in my care. Even a little progress is better than no progress at all.
My professional experience with different employers has provided me with a strong expertise in: * Personal care assistance; bathing, dressing and grooming - ADL * Meal preparation and eating assistance * Companionship and discussion * Medication management * Light housekeeping * General help to elderly and disabled * Running household tasks * Engaging clients in activates such as games, books reading, and light exercise I enjoy working with the clients of all ages and socio-economic backgrounds and have a demonstrated ability to develop great relationship with them and their families. Moreover, I am trustworthy and responsible person who take great pleasure in all kinds of caregiving tasks. Besides, I am dedicated to work hard and always accept challenges to produce winning outcomes. Over and above, I am an active team player who is able to work effectively with family members.
I am a very caring and compassionate caregiver who provides quality care while insuring everyone is in a safe environment. I became a caregiver in 1995 when I went to work for an elderly woman who had hip replacement surgery. It was to be a six week job. However, it lasted six years. I very much enjoyed all aspects of my experience with her and I felt that her keeping me on all those years until she passed was a great achievement.
As an EMT, I learned the importance of taking care of those in need during critical moments. Often times, the greatest satisfaction came from simply keeping a mother, father, child or grandparent safe and stable long enough for the family to be there with them and hold their hand. The relief I would see on the family's face, knowing that their loved one was being taken care of pays off in ways material things never could. I got into care-taking initially to make some extra income in a way that came naturally to me. Although I was no stranger to the medical field, I wasn't sure what to expect. Now, some time later, I can say that there is a satisfaction in knowing that I am playing a small role in a family's journey to best provide for their loved one. Being called a friend of a nearly 90 year old man who I've know a fraction of that time is something I will most likely always hold dear. Listening to stories of a childhood in a different era, a marriage that spanned over six decades, and the ups and downs of a life lived are all things not easily obtained. As someone who can't stand the sight of others in pain or misery, I look forward to providing compassion with dignity and care with expertise for your loved one.

I became a caregiver because of my Mother she had became ill and I wanted to care for her but because I was not experienced in the health field she wanted some one who was in the health care field, so she had to go to the hospital and when I went to visit her I seen that she was in pain and uncomfortable in the hospital bed, and I tried to help her but did not know how too, and that made me very angry, so I decided to take a class in nursing Assistant and Home Health, but by the time I was finished with the course my Mother passed away. which helped me to see that their are others that need help in their homes and in nursing homes and I wanted do it for my mother to care to those in need and, I love caring for others, and I know my Mother is smiling down on me every time I make a difference in helping someone to live their life as much as possible. My greatest achievement is when making life better for others, like I met a lady who had had a stroke and her husband was caring for her and she was having problems with her hands stiffening up so I made her a home made device to help her be able to open and close her hand for exercise, so she could regain her strength in her hands and move her fingers. It was just rolled up towels but it helped her and made a difference and she was so pleased and so was I.
