Hi, My name is Joann, I I have been a caregiver for 3 years. I was taking care of a gentleman that had Alzheimer's and dementia. I'm a very outgoing person understanding loving I give the respect dignity that everyone needs. I got into the medical field because I had breast cancer at a young age and I wanted to give back. I hope you consider me for any job that you have available for me. I even went on family vacations with the family with the gentlemen went camping fishing we went hiking we did a lot of things together, the reason why iam not takeing care of him, the family put him in a memory care facility. It is a very rewarding to me knowing someone needs me.
I became a Caregiver because I love taking care of and helping others. I was inspired by my grandmother and grandfather. What I like about being a Caregiver is, being a caregiver for 11 years has helped me in so many ways; I have worked in Hospitals, Nursing home Facilities, Private Duty, etc. I love what I do in helping each client I've ever worked with. Taking care of sick people that need my help gives me joy in my heart and it lets me know they need people to work with them that care. A personal achievement I am proud of is being able to be in the health field for as long as I have. I am an honest, responsible, and a hard-working employee.

I became a caregiver 11 years ago when I decided to leave my full time job and care for my aging parents and grandmother. My mother had been caring for my father who was a stroke patient for many years and then became responsible for my grandmother who had dementia. I could see her body getting tired and her health starting to fail so I became a caregiver for all three and I care for them until the day they died. I like being a caregiver because it gives you a chance to do a job that you have to want to do. My own personal achievement would be the care I was able to give my mother and time I took to learn how to care for her and being able to be there for her like she had been there for so many others. She went first but she went knowing that I was capable of caring for my father and grandmother just as she would have. I'm a Certified Phlebotomist /Medical Assistant and the mother of two small boys I like being a caregiver because it allows me to have a job helping people and still be and available mother to my boys.
I never thought to be a caregiver until my grandma suggested it. I started off taking a CNA class and when I got my first patient I cried out of fear my teacher told me to not me scared that I was born to do it,she said go in there and care for that person like you would want someone to care for you and I did. To see the smile on my patient face was so rewarding. I've had a lot of experience with different situations I've laughed and cried but it's something I truly love .
