I find it to be very rewarding, I enjoy learning the life and history of people. I have taken care of some remarkable women. When i learn about their past history and what they did, it humanizes them and interests me. I've assisted with Parkinson, Alzheimer, and dependent elderly clients. I'm a former Internal Medicine physician, with experience in a diverse group of diseases, and hospice care. Having experienced a serious illness myself I have a lot of empathy. Now that I'm in remission, I'm grateful to be able to give back and serve people who need assistance

Hi, I first became a caregiver because I wanted to know what it was like helping someone in need. After my first client I realized how much I love being a caregiver. I enjoy everything about my job. I feal very lucky and blessed to have found my calling. I love learning new things especially if they are medical related. I have done case management in a residential home which included scheduling appointments, ordering medications and/or medical equipment, Interview and training new caregivers and weekly meal planning. I have worked with patients with COPD, hoyer lift,MS,Dementia and Alzheimer's and skin cancer treatments. I have also experience in hospice care. The bond that I create with my clients is a wonderfull experience. I like to bake and try new recepies. On my spare time I like to go shopping, do arts and crafts, read non fiction books and watch movies. Oh and I recently started painting.! I think everyone has something unique about themselves and what ever their talent is or was I like to get inspired by it and try new things.
I first learned that I enjoyed patient-care back when I was a medical assistant in a private practice. I enjoyed learning and caring for others. I became a personal caregiver in 2005, and since then I have been able to assist many individuals and their families. I have found that my love for patient care today is done at a more personal level because every individual that I have assisted has their own personal needs; some need help with recovery, while others just need comforting and care through their aging process. By assisting patients in their home, to keep their routines, help them with medications, or just the in the simple act of being a good listener, I have found makes the world of difference to them--I am happy to have made a difference in someone's life. I am very proud of being a professional caregiver. Care-giving is an occupation which I have chosen and in many ways it has chosen me. My life has been influence by the many fine people of which I have had the privilege of knowing and providing care. Many of these individuals gave me the greatest gift that one can receive- their knowledge and experiences. I have a little more understanding of life and history as seen through their eyes. It has been a privileged to care and provide comfort.
I am a great caregiver because I am very passionate with my career choice. I thoroughly enjoy working with seniors and am extremely patient and compassionate. I have been a caregiver for 4 months and am very excited for new challenges and new opportunities where I can be of assistance. I have been in the medical field (emergency services) for 25 years and am grateful for having made the right decision with my career path as a medical assistant, financial coordinator, registration clerk and unit secretary. I have found that with caregiving there are great rewards with giving back to people and coummunities. I am currently an IHSS worker, and possess CPR/First Aid certificates along with Medical Assistant certification. I am a very loyal and committed individual who takes great pride in any position I hold. Working as a caregiver has given me much fulfillment in my life and hope to continue with new clients to care for. I would appreciate any consideration in the position you are offering. Thank you for your time.
