I am proud to say that being a caregiver, i became a very very understanding person dealing with clients. I developed a close bond to my clients, spending time with them listening to their stories. I give them respect and dignity. To be able to bring some sunshine and smiles and laughter to my clients is already a big achievement to me. I worked with clients with dementia, COPD. My job includes help with medication, bathing/grooming, meal preparation, light housekeeping, run errands. I am registered with HomeCare Aide of California, CPR registered and a CNA.
I love taking care of others, no matter it be kids or elderly people. I will take care of anyone, as long as I make them smile and can comfort in every way possible. I have my CNA license, with 3 years of experience. I have a big heart, and I'm willing to do anything for my patients.
My name is Maribel Cruz, I am 26 years old and I have about 7 years of caring for seniors. I truly love what I do and I have met incredible people through this job. I have many happy memories about my clients and I know that in every case I work on I give 100% of my effort. My goal is to provide my clients with the best care possible in order to reach their happiness.
Caregiver I started caregiving when I was 13 since 1976 with my step great, great grandmother who moved in to our house very sick and bedridden. I did everything for her on bed: feeding, cleaning up all kinds of messes, bed baths, sponge baths, undressing, dressing, grooming, transfers with assistance since she's very overweight, showing kindness, patience, empathy, compassion, genuine love and care, respect and dignity. Then, I worked with people with medical issues: blood pressure problems, endocrine disorders, stroke sufferers, diffrent types of cancer, brain disorders, mental disorders, Alzheimer's and different types of Dementia, Parkinson's, ALS, MS, and more. Since I arrived here in US in 2007, I worked in six-beds board and care facilities, Memory Care facilities, assisted living facilty, private homes, in-home cares, housekeeping, laundry, exercises and more
i have been in the field of caregiver since 1998...and have had many experiences...that have taught me that every body needs good quality care...and my objective is to do just that....to be honest ..trustworthy... have patience...be reliable..and flexible..but most important I think is to have compassion and empathy..for the person you care for. I enjoy seeing the smiles on there faces and reflecting back on the moments when i see how i have helped them..i enjoy very much helping the elderly in whatever way I can...I am most proud of knowing that every day .. I face the challenges and rewards that come with this job..that I am living my Dream...

So not only have I done Caregiving and HHA ( Home Health Aid ), I have Hospice care / CNA / Physical and Occupational therapy experience. Which is why I am a Restorative Nurse Assistant as well. Exercise for your love one is so important. Range of motion is a part of our daily living as well. So you know what the saying is " You don't move it you loose it. " I have been truly blessed to take on such a strong rewarding journey. I feel like its my calling. I'm a loving Veteran's wife as well as mother of 1 handsome 19 year old son and 1 beautiful 14 year old daughter. My plans are to return back to school to get my RN in the near future. As for now I feel very blessed to wake up to see each day that wasn't promised to me. My favorite quote is: "Why read a book when you can go to work and hear a new beautiful story from your patient everyday."
I am a very respectable person who have been working in the nursing field for over 18 years being very honest, loyal, flexible, dedicated, trustworthy, loving and compassionate towards others. My passion for helping people above all, comes from within. My inspiration for taking care of people came from my grandmother who one day told me that I would be a great nurse because I was so loving and patient towards her. I think my proudest moment is putting a smile on someone's face knowing that I did something good for them to feel better with themselves. That alone speaks volume to me. I love what I do and I will continue to make an impact in people's lives if God's willing. Looking forward to meeting and helping people with their daily needs and making them feel good with themselves again.
