I believe I have a special connection with the elderly. I find it easy to talk and relate to them. I chose this field because I have a lot of compassion for people especially the elderly. I believe I'm a great caregiver because I'm very qualified to do my job at a high level of excellence. Im very patient, and stay calm in the midst of crises. I like to also encourage people to think positively. I strongly believe in doing unto others as I would like to be done unto me, and that's my driving force to how I treat others. A personal achievement I'm proud of is I have made my own jerk sauce and is in the process with the help of my children and husband to get it on the market.
Calm, cool, and collected. I am a nursing assistant with mainly home healthcare experience. When it comes to caring for others I excel at maintaining and developing an atmosphere safe enough for clients at all times. I treat those in my care like family, while still maintaining professional conduct. I strive to build trusting & lasting connections. Being a nursing assistant has been amazing, but my goal is to complete my education as a physcian's assistant. Caring for others comes so natural for me that furthering my education in the field of health is simply a bonus & a blessing. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Kotty
I became a caregiver to learn hands-on, how to better take care of my husband who had end stage renal failure. Being a caregiver, I have made a lot of friends, learnt patience and from chats with my clients, come to value myself and people around me more. I am widowed with a daughter, live in Wheeling Illinois, experienced in caregiving/companion, and always open to learn new pattern of care for individual people.
When my mother was ill, I was the one she would call to make her scrambled eggs. I took her to the swimming pool and hot tub to get exercise and relaxation. I cut her hair, took her to doctor's appointments and then lunch, and generally gave her some companionship. As I dusted her knickknacks, she told me where each was from. Mom died in 2002. When dad was ailing, some of my family tried to move him into assisted living, but he wanted to stay in his own home. I gave up my apartment and moved in with him, while working in publishing during the day. We had a great time together for a year and a half. Just after he died, I lost my job because I had spent too much time with dad. That evening, the daughter of a neighbor I'd assisted over the years called me, asking if I could help her mother. That began years of caregiving in which I have helped people stay in their homes, and enjoy life. I've brought my keyboard and played hymns and popular songs, singing with them and laughing. As a caregiver, I am simply happy to help my people stay in their own familiar setting. I believe the way I interact with them makes them happy. And my cooking makes them extremely happy! I built my cooking experience on my mom's, then learned to cook for fewer than 8 people! I edited three "Taste of the Country" cookbooks, working with a professional dietician who taught me many ways to fit dietary needs while providing tasty food.
I have a been a personal caregiver for over 15 years I started out working as a Cna in nursing home and I thoroughly enjoy and love the helping others out. It is very fulfilling to me knowing I can help out in any way I can by just simply being there when they need someone. In addition to providing companionship, I can help monitor medications, prepare delicious meals, keep home and laundry clean, transport to Doctors appointments, etc. Your loved one will be in good hands when they are with me.
A great caregiver is one who is skilled, experienced, and possesses the human qualities of compassion, patience, caring and understanding. He or she is essentially some one who genuinely likes people and has a need to serve. I became a caregiver because I like to take care of people and truly think I do an excellent job. I like to make people happy and see their smiling faces. My most challenging and rewarding job was taking care of a lady who was bedridden for over three years before she died and needed considerably attention. I also worked cooperatively with the hospice team. I have a degree in art and bring this ability to enrich my companionship with my clients.
I became a caregiver over ten years ago. While my parents began to age and I would help them out I found that I really liked doing it.The satisfaction of being able to do for others grew my passion to help people that can't help themselves and their families also.Right now I an enrolled in school to get my Assoc degree in health and human services to persue my passion for seniors and veterans.
