Hello! What I love most about being a caregiver/CNA is being able to be a shoulder for those who do not have anyone. I love helping those who need it most or being there for those who aren't able to care for themselves and are seeking long-term care. I've been taking care of those I care about since I was 11 so being a caretaker comes naturally. I have more than 6 years of experience and I understand the importance of following the care plan. My first client was my Mom and although she left me early she was my motivation for wanting to be a Nurse/Caregiver. Hello, First I'd like to share a few things about my experiences as a CNA/caregiver. I have always been a nurturing person first as a child and continuing through adulthood, It brings me great pleasure to help everyone I can. I started my career in 1993 by attending a State licensed class and being state certified to work as such. I have continued my education for 28 years now and I am told I bring great skill set to many homes and individuals. I have worked as a CNA in Hospitals, Home Health, Physical Rehabilitation Centers, Nursing Homes and Private Duty Requests. I enjoy them all. I've worked with Hospice,Alzheimer's, dementia, diabetes, strokes, obesity, bed bound clients such a paraplegic and quadriplegic, ALS clients, PTSD clients, schizophrenia clients, post surgical and more. I offer help with ADLs, showers, bed baths, exercise, meal preparation, vital sign checks, medication reminders, doctor appointments, and more.

My name is Sherita but I go by Rita. I have 16 years of caregiving experience. I've also work as an administration assistant. I've work at a Convent, Nursing home, care home, and Hospital. I've also done home care. I was raised by older adults and that's what got me into caregiving. It's my passion and I love what I do. I've learned so much over the years. Patience, maturity and naturally prone to take care of people around me. I started doing something for a living that matches my personality and now after having experience, I love to work with the elderly and with person's in need of assistance. I feel happy with my family and home consisting of an adorable daughter, husband and a small dog.

I became a nurse aid just to try something different. I never dreamed that 20 yrs. later I would still be doing this as well as enjoying it, but I have learned so much along the way and the experience is priceless. In all the years I have pretty much worked in every area of healthcare. I started out in a nursing facility then went to a hospital, then home health, hospice, neuro-recovery facility, mental health, pediatrics, geriatrics, alzheimers/dementia, ALS, TBI pediatrics, etc... I take pride in my work and care about my patients as if they were my own family, all while maintaining respect, privacy, dignity and having empathy for them as well as their families. I try to put myself in the other shoes. I know there's alot of "caring" people out there but I believe the true genuine people are few and very far between.
