It all stared when I was 13 years old my grandmother had dementia. I hope take care of her during this summer, and came back every weekend to be with her.. I love a challenge. I love people. I've been doing home health care on and off for the last 10 years.

My name is Katy! A little about me I took care of my father when he was alive he was bed ridden due to amputation, diabetes and kidney disease. Hello, First I'd like to share a few things about my experiences as a CNA/caregiver. I have always been a nurturing person first as a child and continuing through adulthood, It brings me great pleasure to help everyone I can. I started my career in 1993 by attending a State licensed class and being state certified to work as such. I have continued my education for 28 years now and I am told I bring great skill set to many homes and individuals. I have worked as a CNA in Hospitals, Home Health, Physical Rehabilitation Centers, Nursing Homes and Private Duty Requests. I enjoy them all. I've worked with Hospice,Alzheimer's, dementia, diabetes, strokes, obesity, bed bound clients such a paraplegic and quadriplegic, ALS clients, PTSD clients, schizophrenia clients, post surgical and more. I offer help with ADLs, showers, bed baths, exercise, meal preparation, vital sign checks, medication reminders, doctor appointments, and more.

I have always had a caregiving nature. I've always been the one to watch the room for the underdog and to take care of the sickly. I'm compassionate yet Strong. I'm also thick skinned, so mood swings do not affect me on a personal level. I've been involved in multiple types of care ranging from child care as I am also a mother of three, senior care, post-surgery (All ages-mandatory and elective), care Hospice care, respite relief care. My personality is energized and empathetic.

I started this professional career in 2009 after my dad had a stroke and of course I wanted to step in and take care of him. I realized after he passed away that this was my calling. I am caring, compassionate, confident and exude enthusiasm as well as personality plus!! I'm an excellent caregiver because I love what I do and I strive to always be the best in whatever I'm doing. My greatest personal achievement's have been raising 2 beautiful daughters as a single mom. The other would be going back to school and achieving my CNA & Phlebotomist license. I love being a voice for the elderly when they don't have one and love taking care of them as if they we're my own parents or grandparents. 1. I'm a vary patience and compassionate with what each client is going through. I myself have been in situations to place me in a position to have 24hr care. Having respect as well as empathy helps makes everyone feel comfortable and secure with a new face in the comfort of their home. 2. As a young child I myself was sick so I watched just how much time and love my mother and father showed made me realize I too shared the gift of helping those in need. 3. Recovering from a 15 ft fall that I was told I would never be able to walk the same, do the job I did before nor the activities I onced loved, I loved myself back to health. Learning how to walk, use the restroom, run and go back to work has been one of the most personal achievement I have ever accomplished.
