What attracted me to be in a Caregiver was the fact that I've always taken care of elderly family members. My last family member who I took care of was my stepdad I took care of them until he passed for three years because he was diagnosed with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. After learning a lot about how to care from my dad and realizing how important it was for us to care for him at home, I decided to continue with this career because I enjoy helping others in their own home. I see how happy and comfortable they are being in a place and it's familiar to them and therefore the caring is smoother for them and as the client transitions during their care, it's also very comfortable for them to be in a familiar place like their home. By working with other companies, I have learned many other things about caring for individuals in their home for example, how to use a Hoyer or how to care for a client who is paraplegic. I work for several companies and I've had jobs from working with a paraplegic client to chest playing companionship. I think my personality and my flexibility is key to to be able to work with individuals. I am a person that I'm able to adjust to different personalities and because I've taken care of so many different people I can understand different individual individuals and how to treat different individuals.
