My mother is a nurse/ caregiver so I have had the the great opportunity of watching her and listening to her great stories, which inspired me to want to become a caregiver. I started by helping my elderly grandmother with her ADL's ( activities of daily living ), bathing, errands, and housekeeping. Although that in itself was satisfying, I wanted to help more people who were in need of a caregiver. I decided to attend Lincoln Technical Institute, in the Medical Assistant Technology degree program. Upon completion of the program (08/30/2016), I will have my associates degree and my certification as a medical assistant. Through my school, I have had the pleasure of interviewing and being hired at Interim Healthcare as a caregiver. Caregiving to me is a responsibility and a honor. I believe that patient should feel as if I'm a loving relative who cates as much about their well being as they do. Being punctual, kind, flexible, obedient, and a great listener has opened many doors for me. Also I am trained in EKG's, triage, phlebotomy, pharmacology, medical billing and coding, First Aid, electronic medical records, HIPAA and OSHA Regulations, proper sterilization standards, and I am CPR certified. The fact that I care about my clients is the most important reason why I am a phenomenal caregiver.
