I am not looking for a job, I'm looking for a connection. My entire career field is centered around taking care of people who need it the most. As of right now, I am enrolled in college finishing my Bachelor's and moving onto my Master's with all intentions to work with the older adult population. I am not the average cookie cutter caregiver; I am really here for you. I understand how hard it can be, I don't expect rainbows and sunshine everyday. I want to be there when things aren't always the greatest, because good people need a helping hand sometimes. I love seeing that smile on someone face when they get a home-cooked meal, or they do something they didn't think they would be able to anymore. You loved one becomes my loved one too, because no one should have to handle life alone. The biggest thing I see, especially after working in a hospital, is that people tend to forget that just because someone gets older, it doesn't mean they aren't still human. I see people sometimes baby-talk grown adults, and I understand it is necessary for certain ailments, but most of the time, they are just as spunky and sarcastic (if not more!) than us younger folks. This is something I am passionate about, more than anything in my life. I don't want to be just a face that pops in as a medication alarm, I want to be able to get to know your loved one, and you yourself. I believe that the best medicine is compassion, because at the end of the day, the memories we make are what go with us more than any material item. If you give me the chance to meet you and you loved one, I promise to show you a caregiver you will never forget.
